Which season would you rather have?

I had this discussion with a friend the other day. There is no right or wrong answer, it just reflects a difference in philosophy.

The teams are easy to figure out, but I won't name them just for the sake of numerical objectivity.

I can't think of the teams. Only thing I can think of is KU and K-State, but KU was ranked #1 weren't they? They were the top seed of the tournament. So who am I missing? I picked Elite 8 by the way.

I used the rankings released yesterday, which had Duke #1, Butler #2, Kansas #6, and K-State #7.

If you are not going to win the National Championship or make the final four take the wins over the rival and the conference title. Especially if you are a big time school like Kansas.

I agree with this. Certainly winning three games in the tourney is better than one, but I think the three rivalry wins, the conference titles, and the other extra wins more than make up for those extra couple of wins.

Of course, I am a BYU fan who has been trying to tell myself for years that tourney wins are overrated. :-)

In basketball, it's what you do in the post season that counts most. Football, OTH, is about the regular season more than post season because so many teams are eliminated from any chance to win a fake championship before the first game is even played.
