I didn't see it but I heard he slapped him. Probably while drunk. Let's just say the kid was well-known to campus security at the U., who were called to break up his parties at least once a week. That Boylen tolerated all that -- ultimately at Marshall's expense -- tells me everything I need to know about JB as a head coach.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostIsn't this the thug that punched Jackson Emery?“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

Those highlights certainly make him look like him turned up the crazy a few notches. Coaches and teammates pulling him back from taunting fans...Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View Postcollege basketball's newest madman

What are you talking about? He looks to me like he's doing fine. If Jim Boylen had the character this kid has, and had managed to keep him, Utah basedball would be in great shape now. When Henderson decided to transfer I knew that was the end of Boylen. Then Boylen really highlighted the problem by using his utefans shills to assassinate the kid's character. Stop perpetuating those libels.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI hope the guy can put his problems behind him and have a happy life. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

The kid is probably a problem drinker or worse. I hope that was just part of his stupid youth and he is now taking care of that. Part of me thinks (hopes) his wild, exuberant behavior is a sign that he's finding healthy ways to deal with his demons. If so, good. Boylen probably was enabling him.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostWhat are you talking about? He looks to me like he's doing fine. What's up with Vandy's crazy baseline benches?Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

I meant the other forms of substance abuse. They usually kill people sooner than alcohol and cause serious health problems that can be irreversible. Meth, for example. If kids get into stuff like that it's pretty horrible. Note: I have no reason to believe Marshall H. was into any of that. I hope Boylen wasn't enabling him. But it looks like he was at least turning a blind eye to MH's behavior.Originally posted by UtahDan View PostWhat could be worse than a drinker?“There is a great deal of difference in believing something still, and believing it again.”

You don't know what's going on with that kid. Stop maligning him with inuendo spread by those excuse makers in the Utah basketball office. You sound like the church lady. What I saw in that film was tremendous character and a player I'd love the Utes to have. He's the best player on a team at the top of the SEC.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostI meant the other forms of substance abuse.
