    How brutal. Even today.

Yep, I still haven't got over that loss completely.

And we scored the first bucket to go up by 12. We were tied with 4 minutes to go and down 4 with 36 seconds and couldn't get a shot to fall.

If we could've got something--anything--from Jordie MacTavish, to spell Dre for just a minute or two, that game would've been different.

        I hate kentucky.

I thought Jordie McTavish was Canadian? Is it the love of hockey that causes you to misplace your hate towards Kentucky?

That loss falls squarely on Majerus. He recruited McTavish as Miller's backup rather than try to find someone competent to do it.

Sometimes there is no blame. Without Majerus you never get a whiff of it. The fact was you just played a superior program that was rolling. The year is something to be gloried in and throw a parade about, no reason to look for blame when that team did more with what it had than 99.9999% of the NCAA teams to ever play.

Besides that whenever I see the name Jordie McTavish I think of those cool names like Phillip McKrevitz or Seymour Butz.

I agree that without Majerus, the Utes wouldn't have been there. I also agree that Kentucky was just that much better.

That said, Majerus has lamented that Utah may have had a better chance to win that game had there been a better backup at PG. Of course, he didn't hint that it was his decision to recruit McTavish as that would mean he'd have to accept responsibility for the loss.

I have what seems to be an unusual, ultra-philosophical way of looking at that game. For me, the wins over AZ and NC just made the Kentucky game something to sit back and enjoy (you seem to get this, and so, I venture, does 3D). The fact that we were there and competitive in that game is what mattered. For a Ute fan since age 8, one who went to final fours as a child and longed to see the Utes there, it redeemed everything. I just enjoyed the ride. At tipoff the Utes were already a very special part of history.

Calling Kenucky "them" and pissing and moaning at that loss, blaming people, is just moronic Utefans bullshit. Stupid utefans can't realize how special and unlikely even miraclulous the whole experience was. Beating Kenucky wasn't the thing; the ride was the thing. This is why I wouldn't trade Utah's 1998 football season whatever way the stupid man polls voted re no. 1 or 2 (we were no. 1 in the chess poll, which is what counts, anyway).

People who can't take pleaure in what they have are small minded and really piss me off almost more than anything else.

In response to your first question, no, I'm not saying that. On the contrary. The whole thing was magical beacuse they showed themselves legit.

Utefans I described in my post are idiots, in my opinion. And you know what opinions are like.

By the way, you don't need to say anything to agree with me. Silence is the same thing as agreement.
