I agree with junkie. Leonard is an unusual situation.

Forget the stars, they're stupid. Here's what ESPN said, and he was top 100 on ESPN.

I tried to find one. Oh... there it is. Based on the icon, I thought it was some sort of calendar widget.

I even tried old school html tags (<table><th><td>) with no success.

        I'll remember that. Thanks!

I didn't know he had official offers though from those other schools.

U-Ute, cheer up. The offer from the Pac 10 is coming on June 11, 2010.

Our coaches are already recruiting saying the Utes are a Pac 10 school.

Physically, Glover (6-6) fits that mold, but is way too tentative and seems a bit overwhelmed by it all right now. Hopefully he gets his head on and eats every meal (day and night) over the summer with Wynn. Lee (6-3), DiMaria (6-6), and O'Brien (6-6) fit the mold on the surface, but we'll have to see how they look this summer to get an indication of what the future holds.
I don't know how many formulas for success there are at Utah, but the only one I have ever seen work is what Majerus did and it starts with being competitive recruiting in state. I'm not saying you have to get everyone, even during the height of Utah's success they couldn't get Garner Meads to come to Utah (of course he was a massive bust).

Still, over the years there have been the Caton brothers, the Johnson brothers, Alex Jensen, Marc Jackson, etc. BYU is getting ALL of those guys right now. Watching BYU this year has made me think (not trolling) that when the stars align our cap is higher than theirs. When we can get enough local guys to be respectable and then bring in some talent from outside the LDS/Utah pool (which BYU gets almost none of) AND get lucky and have a special guy come along (Van Horn, Miller, Bogut) we can be great. BYU is at its best during times like right now when they get all the good LDS/Utah guys and have at least one special one.

But my point is I think we need to start winning some battles in state. I don't know that we are ever going to be able to rebuild without that base. I don't know how you do it, but I think it is key. In fact, isn't that basically what we have done in football?

Maybe so, but that means that the gulf between the "power conferences" and the MWC is even greater.

When you add in Muojeke from last year, it doesn't make much difference. Jacobson still wouldn't be FOY in last year's class.

Yes. I posted about Drew Gordon. He's big. 6-9, 230. As a sophmore in 6 games he averaged 11 and 5.

The most likely candidate for an MWC dynasty in the near future is New Mexico. In basketball, programs can change fast, but NM is doing more things right and getting more good players that stand out next to other MWC programs right now.

Yeah he is a big time get for New Mexico.

Also New Mexico has a top 10 center coming in who is a local kid. Alex Kirk, 6'11 230. He had offers from Arizona, Arizona state, USC, Washington, Vanderbilt, Cal, Oregon State, and Texas Tech. As well as a 6'7 wing Tony Snell who had offers from Auburn, Bradley, San Diego State, Washington State, and South Florida.

UNLVs class is actually pretty weak on paper, all 3 kids only had offers from Nevada and Northern Arizona. One kid Taylor Spencer a pg from Bishop Gorman did have a Utah offer.

SDSU landed a point guard with a grundle of offers including Gonazaga, Pitt, Marquette, Cal, and Washington. However he has yet to sign. He is committed but not signed.

The conference should just keep getting better.
