What about St. Marys? They had an awful schedule too and still made it to the NCAA tourney and won in the first round.

Their toughest road game was @ Oregon and other than that they did not play anybody.

St Mary's had SDSU (beat them) and Vandy at home not to mention winning at Utah St. and they got to play Gonzaga 3 times eventually beating them in the WCC tourney. Winning the WCC tourney gave them the auto bid and its quite possible they wouldn't have been in without it. If there was a Gonzaga in the WAC, Utah St might have an argument but there isn't so they don't.

So that was really a piss poor example.

So criticize his recruiting - Gonzaga gets much better players than USU.

But even in regard to recruiting, it's hard to say how much Gonzaga being a Jesuit school hurts them, but Spokane >>>> Logan, so even criticizing recruiting in comparison to Morrill seems like a stretch.

But either way, Morrill has far exceeded what any other coach has been able to do there so I have a hard time criticizing what he's done with the program.

I have St. Marys upsetting Nova in round 2...which will help add points given my G-town pick.
"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

So he schedules a couple tough road games, they lose both or three, you're telling me a 24-10 record with a WAC schedule gets them higher than a 12? Give me a break.

Have you been to Spokane, WA because if you had you wouldn't say that so easily.

And Morrill hasn't done a damn thing there except win one less tourney game than Ray Giacolletti.

That's another coach you've compared to Ray Giacoletti. He has been to the sweet sixteen and had a #1 overall draft pick on that team. There are hundreds of D1 coaches that would kill to have that kind of success. But nice try.

And yes, I've been so Spokane and Logan numerous times and if I'm the average highly touted basketball player from anywhere outside of Utah or Washington, I go to Spokane in a heartbeat.

I have been to Spokane, WA and it is marginally better than Logan, unless of course you are a meth addict which would make Spokane paradise.

But a decade ago that question wasn't so simple. USU had a MUCH BETTER hoops tradition. Gonzaga's claim was having John Stockton play there, and they weren't great when he was there.

Stu sat on his ass, Mark Few built a power.

I wanted to pick St. Mary's to go far, but I saw them in person in a game they should have lost to a bad Oregon team. So I can't believe in them that much.

That you would post this when you claim to think Portland is a great town is, well one of the most hilarious things I have ever read. No meth there. HAHA

Its not the existence of meth, its that the economy of Spokane is based entirely upon the sale trade and use of meth.

Plus Spokane is the capital of fat girls who think the are hot. Its really really weird.

Oh Portland is a big meth town too, but unlike Spokane their is something other than meth in the city. I guess I'm not really giving Spokane its due, it also is the home to lots of serial killers.
