How many Final Fours have you attended in person?

Many have said that the Final Four is the greatest single event in spectator sports; the opening with all fans there in their colors, the four teams all present, the excitement, the greatest moment in sports. I'm sure that with all the spectator sports aficionados we have here there have been many who have attended in person and have great stories to tell.

I have never tried but it would definitely be a fun challenge. I have definitely pulled off earlier rounds but as far back as I can recall, SoCal has never hosted a Final Four.

The U, of course, deserves recognition for having hosted the most important Final Four game, which turned out to be possibly the most important basketball game (pro or college), of all time.

My scalper buddy tells me you can get into the Monday game for cheap. Buy Monday's tickets from fans of the losing team walking out of the Saturday game.

technically that strategy should work for any round. the reason it doesnt tend to work well for the FF is because the Monday game is also the national championship game, which tends to attract spectators regardless of fanship. If your team loses on Saturday night and you have already made plans to be there, you are more likely going to stick around to watch a championship game. It is possible, no doubt, but from my experience, I have never heard of a FF ticket being "cheap." would be cool to pull it off, though.

Cheap is relative. But my buddy goes every year to scalp and to watch and claims the national championship game is one of the little known secrets in the sports world.

Correct, if you're talking about in terms of elevating the Final Four to what it is today. But the 1966 Final Four that was won by Texas Western is the most important in history if we're talking about the social impact. But screw that - we're talking about the Final Four as an event, so hooray Utah!

I was a 14 year old kid sitting in the Special Events Center with my dad in 1979. I thought the entire Final Four was great, especially the championship game, but the gravity of it never occurred to me until a number of years later after the many classic battles between the two in the NBA Finals.

The other I've attended was 1998 in San Antonio. I don't have a copy of that championship game and have no desire to ever see any of it again. I don't even want to see the first 35 minutes or so of that game because I know how it's going to end.
