The first weekend of March Madness is the greatest sports weekend of the year. But this "weekend" (which really started on Monday) doesn't get enough credit. Tons of great basketball in the next 3-4 days. I'm looking forward to Marquette-Villanova, Texas-Baylor, and Oklahoma St-Kansas St.

I have nothing against USU. I generally have no problem cheering for them. But I've really enjoyed reading their board this week, watching their fans bust a vein at the prospect of them getting shut out of an at-large bid despite Stew the Deity and their Top-Five Homecourt Advantage in the Nation. I would smile if Boise St upset them.

Also, fun fact: the SWAC conference tournament is played in the bustling metropolis of Bossier City, Louisiana.

Syracuse lives and dies by the three. Mostly it thrives by it. It's unbelievable. And how it makes that zone work so well I don't understand. Basically, it's a team of hard working players who are great shooters, and with great chemistry. Georgetown is a lot more talented.

Georgetown has zero depth. Pundits around the country are calling this Boehim's best team ever. And you still maintain that GU is more talented? LOL.

You're right though, that 2-3 zone is unbelievable. I remember BYU shot them out of it. F'ing GMac.

Georgetown has at least two high lottery picks. Syracuse? Wes Johnson is their best pro prospect and he's no sure thing. Granted, Syracuse is deeper.

BYU is a poor man's Syracuse this year.

BTW, the lack of depth is probably JTIII's big coaching failure. He has plenty of ESPN 92+ rated guys warehoused.

Wes Johnson is a top 5 pick. Greg Monroe will go in the lottery because of "upside" but he will flame out quickly in the NBA since he has not improved one bit since his Sr. year of high school.

Freeman is a 2nd round pick at best.

Rautins of Syracuse will get picked up late 2nd, Kris Joseph will be a lottery pick when he comes out, and I bet Rick Jackson gets drafted.

For Georgetown after Monroe its questionable if Freeman, or Wright are even drafted.

Who are the two high lottery picks? Monroe is a borderline lotto pick and Freeman is projecting mid second round on a lot of boards.

I will echo what woot said about the civil war. The NBA is a subject I care and read little about.

Johnson is a now pojected a no. 8 pick. Throw in some Euros, Kentucky's starting lineup of frosh fab five, and HS players, and he maybe drops out of lottery contention.

Freeman is only a Jr. and Monroe is a soph.

His stock is falling due to his health. I agree with CJ, Monroe is a bust. No deligence. I would expect better coaching with a big man from a Thompson. I guess he is still in the shadows of his brother let alone his dad.

Yes, Freeman's health problems have hurt him.

Stick to US history and Utah football.

Your point? Monroe is still a late lottery pick and Freeman a mid-second rounder in 2011's mock draft by the very website you use above to bash Wesley. And you realize that the same argument you make about Euros, early declarers, etc. has the same potential to push Monroe out of the lottery completely, right? Also, HS players? Not sure if you're aware but HS players are ineligible for the draft. You said Georgetown has two high lottery picks. You're wrong. You said Georgetown was more talented than Syracuse. You're wrong.

                              That's hit and miss too.
