  • Let the firing season begin

Rumored short list is Mark Few (Gonzaga) and Mark Turgeon (Texas A&M). No thoughts on any coaches not named Mark.

Few will certainly turn it down. I was in Omaha last weekend (don't ask) and they said Steve Alford will be a candidate as will Gregg Marshall at Wichita St.

Few is from Eugene, and has ties to former AD Pat Kilkenny. Though you are right I see no reason for him to have interest, he rolls out of bed and wins 20 games, the WCC and gets a 5 seed to the dance. He would have to work to earn tourney bids here.

If it would have been a couple of years ago, I'd have liked your chances. But this Zag team is young and loaded for bear and I believe they have their best shot at a Final Four.

But Few's one buyout is Oregon so it would be the one place he might leave for. However at the same time why leave being a God to be second fiddle to Chip Kelly.

Alford will be on several lists this year. If he so much as gives another job a sniff, the Lobo Nation will be on suicide watch.

Alford has been kicked in the stomach and mauled at Iowa. Oregon is like the Pac 10's Iowa. If New Mexico gives him the moon he might stay. I hope he does.

Actually Iowa is a kind comparison to Oregon basketball, and probably closer to Washington. Previous to Kent Oregon was more comparable with Northwestern in the B10. Iowa's history include Ralph Miller, Lute Olson and multiple Final Fours, so really even comparing Washington to Iowa is a stretch.

They need somebody good to open up the new arena next year.
I have nothing else to say at this time.

The best they can probably offer him to stay is a shirt with a moon and 3 wolves on it.

"You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack... it grew by one. So there... there were two of us in the wolf pack... I was alone first in the pack, and then Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought, "Wait a second, could it be?" And now I know for sure, I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. Four of us wolves, running around the desert together, in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast!"

                      I agree.

As far as the Zags go, if Mark Few leaves, maybe they'll move up a certain assistant coach who wears a red jacket.

                      hehehehehehehehe

And watch him take them to the Final 4.

Leon Rice will be the new Zag coach if Few left.
