I was perusing their paper to see if Jimmer gets much love in his hometown. The answer is quite a bit, of course. Anyway the Mayor has written BYU and proposed that BYU come to Glens Falls next season and take on an East Coast opponent. His hope is that Jimmer gets to play in front of his hometown fans and BYU gets some Eastern exposure.
BYU vs Syracuse in Glenns Falls anyone? FYI, the civic center seats 6,000.

The letter is addressed to Brigham Young University. It urges the Cougars to schedule a men's basketball game at the Glens Falls Civic Center during the 2010-11 season. The reason should be fairly obvious: So that Glens Falls native Jimmer Fredette can play in his hometown.
"He's been a big part of this community,'' Diamond said. "He got his exposure in Glens Falls. ... We want to keep Glens Falls' name out there nationally. Why not reach out to BYU?''
