Yeah, Hines is a bit of a mystery to me as well. The only thing I can figure is that he somehow doesn't "bring it" in practice and as such Boylen has him riding the pine. That seems to be the same justification for why Tevita plays so much. I suspect we'll see either Hines or Cyphers transfer at season's end unless something changes."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

Watch the tape, Henderson isn't even looking at Emery and is genuinely stunned when Emery drops like he was shot with a high powered rifle. I've said Henderson has to be smarter, but Emery instigated the incident and its very clear there is no punch or even attempt to hit Emery.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostWhatever helps you sleep at night. If a D-I athlete, yes even Henderson, can have the skill to dribble a ball twice without dribbling it off his foot, he can shake lose from Jackson's vice-like grip without making contact with his face. Just a guess though.

The more I read, the more you convince me Emery's a big bully, and Henderson's an innocent victim.Originally posted by Mr. Crimson View PostWatch the tape, Henderson isn't even looking at Emery and is genuinely stunned when Emery drops like he was shot with a high powered rifle. I don't think that's a bad thing either if this incoming PG is as good as advertised.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostYeah, Hines is a bit of a mystery to me as well. I vote that Cyphers will be the one, although "both" would not surprise me.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostYeah, Hines is a bit of a mystery to me as well. Boylen would be smart IMO to change his style just a bit in order to play to his team's true strengths: perimeter play. I'm not just saying that as a fan of a perimeter team either. Boylen's got some guys right now that could run a more up-tempo game but he prefers to slug it out in the half-court in the hopes that Foster and Washburn have a light bulb go on. I just don't think it's going to happen like it did for Neville. At least within that context he's trying to run double screens in order to open it up for a perimeter shot but I still think it's not effective given the personnel. Get Brown and guys like Hines and Henderson out on the break, feed Watkins down low early in the shot clock and play inside-out.Originally posted by Jarid in Cedar View PostI vote that Cyphers will be the one, although "both" would not surprise me.
(On a side note...BYU has a couple of guys I wouldn't mind seeing "take one for the team" in order to land a few 6'11'' projects. BYU under Rose will remain a perimeter oriented team but it's pretty obvious that beyond the conference it's impossible to win without interior play.)"Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

I think Emery was truly trying to exacerbate the situation and he got exactly what he wanted. To suggest Emery wasn't without fault is silly but Crimson's incessant pleas of innocence due to Henderson's apparent epileptic condition is laughable.Originally posted by U-Ute View PostNo. Henderson is far from being without fault, but Emery wasn't being very smart either.

I'm not sure I follow.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostBoylen would be smart IMO to change his style just a bit in order to play to his team's true strengths: perimeter play. The Utes always try to push the ball up the court, on makes and misses, and even look for early 3's. If they can't get a good shot, they drop into the half-court. Would you just rather have them hoist one up from half-court?
Plus, basically you're proposing we just give up on Foster and Washburn. Last time I looked, they're freshmen. Nevill was a junior when Boylen showed up on campus. I see improvement from Foster already. He actually scored in the post over his shoulder several times in the last couple of games. He just needs some size and confidence.
Maybe we can get Foster on the Jordan "Bulk Up In 3 Months" Wynn diet this summer. Considering that Henderson and Wynn are apparently BFF's, Wynn may cut him a deal.

I mean you're a BYU fan so you're good at pretending. I'm sure you still think Ryan Hancock was out of bounds.

This line is hilarious, several times in the last couple of games he has made one or two shots. Except for the TCU game where he did not score. The guy has zero offensive skills and is a horrible rebounder for his size. The only thing he is good at is being tall.Originally posted by U-Ute View PostPlus, basically you're proposing we just give up on Foster and Washburn. Last time I looked, they're freshmen. Foster's a sophomore and they went a combined 0-5 last night with 8 rebounds and 7 PF. They are truly improving.Originally posted by U-Ute View PostI'm not sure I follow.

I'll repeat for the slow: Jackson held his arm, Ben Stiller had an epileptic fit and made contact with Jackson's face. Do you have anything else for me, counselor?Originally posted by Mr. Crimson View PostI mean you're a BYU fan so you're good at pretending. But the tape shows what it shows.
