And maybe I am but I'll say it anyway. The way Jimmer has played on offense the last couple of games has concerned me. He is forcing shots at times and not involving teammates when they have open looks. Not good for a point guard. He is the MWC player of the year, no question. I just think he's going to cost BYU a game or two if he continues to try to play 1 on 5 too often.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

I think a lot of Jimmer's ill-advised shots are simply heat checks late in the game, as he gets going.
I share your observation, but the commentators were right tonight....too much BYU standing around watching Jimmer, esp late in the second half of games.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

This only seems to happen when Emery cools down. When Emery is hitting his shots, Jimmer is more than willing to give it upOriginally posted by CJF View PostAnd maybe I am but I'll say it anyway. I guess I worry that they're standing around too much because they know when Jimmer gets in mood he's not giving the ball up to anybody no matter what. And when he does, they take quick shots knowing that is the one chance they'll get before Jimmer takes the ball back. I think that has started to become a trend lately. He's just going to try to take over no matter what. If it continues it will cost BYU a game or two and it could hurt offensive chemistry.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI think a lot of Jimmer's ill-advised shots are simply heat checks late in the game, as he gets going.

I'm not complaining. Jimmer is a stud. Just a trend over the last few games I've noticed and it is something that could grow into a problem. I've actually thought the same thing. I think that is mostly the case. Jimmer has missed a wide open JT several times the last two games forcing things. At least two of those times he missed JT for wide open layups. As a point guard, that concerns me.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostThis only seems to happen when Emery cools down. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Disagree. He's an incredibly efficient offensive player. He has 446 points on 293 shots. He has a 2:1 assist to TO ratio. There are times he gets to the key, everything's covered, and he ends up forcing up a bad shot. But more often than not, when he has the ball good things happen. In fact, I bet if you tracked possessions all year, we're better off when he forces something in the key against two big men than dish off to an open Miles. He's a special player, and basically the team will go as far as he can carry.
