I'm 85% sure they win their first round game if this comes true. (Thx Indy)

Damn that Chris Hill for screwing them out of a 2 seed and giving them the toughest 14 in the tourney.

This is somewhat of an illusion. BYU has the toughest part of the schedule ahead of it. As impeccable as its been it's a no. 3.

Have I said before that there's nothing more stupid than bracketology?

          GAMES OF THE WEEK

          MON/Georgetown @ Syracuse
The biggest game in years between two heated rivals.

MON/College of Charleston @ Western Carolina
Both made noise non-conference; only one can rule the SoCon.

          MON/Arkansas-Pine Bluff @ Texas Southern
Two of the three co-leaders in the SWAC square off.

          TUE/Rhode Island @ Dayton
Two A-10 contenders coming off disappointing losses.

          TUE/Northwestern @ Minnesota
Only the winner stays under consideration for the next bracket.

          TUE/Tulsa @ UAB
These C-USA unbeatens meet only once in the regular season.

          WED/Texas A&M @ Oklahoma State
Both teams could use an additional resume-builder or two.

          WED/BYU @ New Mexico
If the Cougars can win at The Pit, there's no stopping them ...

          WED/Vanderbilt @ Tennessee
A whole lot more than state supremacy is on the line.

          THUR/Virginia Tech @ Virginia
Another game in which the loser falls out of consideration.

          THUR/California @ Arizona State
A battle for the top of the Pac-10, such as it is.

          THUR/Oakland @ IUPUI
Oakland has a chance for a season sweep of Summit contenders.

          FRI/Butler @ Wisconsin-Green Bay
There aren't many left on the schedule in which Butler will be challenged.

          SAT/Kansas @ Kansas State
I'd pay double to see this one ...

          SAT/Old Dominion @ Northeastern
Both enter the week with 8-1 records in the CAA.

          SAT/Harvard @ Cornell

As if anyone could know that.

And althoug it's utterly pointless, it's fun to think about as long as one has a team that's in the running. And I LOVE that bracketing. I'd be able to attend the first and second round games just down the road.

One has to appreciate the idea of BYU playing Clemson in the tourney. The last time BYU did so, if memory serves, the Cougs lost when an alley-oop layup by Marty Haws went just off the rim. AVENGE ME, MY SON!!!

In Bracketology last January, Utah was 10-5 and projected as an 11. They finished 14-4 and were given a 5.

Much will change over these two months.

I think every loss represents a drop of one seed for BYU. I see two conference losses and a loss in the conference tourney. BYU will end up with a #6 seed.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

I am bummed. No games rolling through Anaheim or San Diego this year.

Depending on how much blue kool-aid I've ingested during the MWC tourney, I might utter 4 words that no lips have ever before uttered: ROADIE TO SAN JOSE!

Do you know the way to San Jose? We've got a lot of space. There'll be a place where you can stay

Awesome! I just need to find a ride.

I am saving up to put $100 down for car.

Turns out, they probably should have been an 11.

The U was definitely over-seeded last year. 11 could have been about right, but I can't really say because I don't really understand all the workings of using computers to determine seeding.
