More from Ford on Jimmer today (also comments from an NBA GM).
Don't sleep on BYU's Jimmer Fredette as a potential draft candidate this year. If he were playing at Duke, he'd be mentioned as a potential player of the year candidate. Much like Duke's own Jon Scheyer, he's not the greatest athlete in the world, but he's tough, can really see the floor and he shoots the lights out.
"He's really tough and he's a fearless kid," one GM said. "He's going to lead a team. I wish he was a little bit better athlete, but I can't name five better point guards in this draft. He'll find a way to do it at the next level."*Banned*

lol. If BYU were in the ACC (like Duke is) it wouldn't be 25-3 and Jimmer woudn't have scored any 49 points in a game.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostMore from Ford on Jimmer today (also comments from an NBA GM).When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Yes. Said Pac 10 conference may be weaker than the MWC this year.Originally posted by creekster View PostYou do realize that he scored 49 points in a non conference game against a Pac-10 team, right? When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

That hypothetical is correct. What is incorrect is the implication that if Jimmer were playing at Duke he would never have played the caliber of team which would allow him to score 49 points. In other words, this year's Arizona team would not be the worst team on Duke's schedule this year (or any year, for that matter).Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostYes. but th epoint is that if he was at duke he oculd have just as easily played against a non conference opponent fo the same caliber or worse. IOW that he scored 49 points against a non-conf opponent has nothing to do wiht him being in the MWC or at BYU as opposed to at duke or the ACC.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostYes. Am I really explaining this to you? Are you trolling?PLesa excuse the tpyos.

He's not, but he's going to claim he was, and that we both took the bait.Originally posted by creekster View PostAm I really explaining this to you? He's a great actor as well.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
