BYUs last 4 games they have had 4 different leading scorers.
Jimmer- 49
JT- 17
Haws- 20
Emery- 21
They also have 4 players averaging double figures on the year.
Jimmer- 20.0
Emery- 13.2
Haws- 11.6
JT- 10.1
Then the three headed monster at Center (Hartsock, Davies and Miles) are averaging 19 points and 13 rebounds.*Banned*

JT is back to his old self. Turn-around fade-aways and thirty foot off balance bombs. The thing, though, that bugs me the most about him is that he can't just make a simple pass. It's either underhand or no-look or behind the back or backwards over the shoulder. All of sudden he thinks he's Curly Freaking Neal. I don't know what goes on in that pointy little head of his, but he is not an easy guy to figure out. I don't know how much more of him I can take."The mind is not a boomerang. Seriously? The guy just came up HUGE in two games we would not have won without him.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostJT is back to his old self. And I thought he'd turned a corner. He played well the last two games, because he played smart. Then he gets co-player of the week and it goes to his head. He starts to think he's actually going to make those stupid shots and passes he takes. I'm rooting for JT, but it's like a roller coaster. He's wearing me out.Originally posted by TheAzzuri View PostSeriously? The guy just came up HUGE in two games we would not have won without him."The mind is not a boomerang. I like how he hesitated to wait for the AFA player, basically to tell him, "Are you kidding? I've got 8 inches on you, boy, and this thing is leaving the gym if you bring it." And the poor guy still brought it.Originally posted by SCcoug View PostWow Davis just had a monster block. He is really turning into a contributor. He'll be fun to watch the next few years. Anyone know if he has mission plans?
I'm a little troubled by the Jimmer situation. If he is still recovering from mono and seems day-to-day, I would rather have him sit in these games where they don't necessarily need him. I want him to be at full health (if possible) when they go on the road to SDSU and UNM, and I'd hate for them to look back and think Jimmer should have rested more so he would recover faster. On the other hand, if he really is healthy, he needs to be getting minutes to get back in mental and physical shape so he'll be close to top form when they really need him.

I think the reason they are playing Jimmer now is to keep him in basketball form, so that when they go up against New Mexico and SDSU he isn't trying to get his game back.Originally posted by TheBYUGuy View PostI'm a little troubled by the Jimmer situation. I'm equally confused. It seems he should have skipped both these trips. Use practice to get yourself in game shape not road games where the travel wears you down with no benefit.Originally posted by TheBYUGuy View PostI like how he hesitated to wait for the AFA player, basically to tell him, "Are you kidding? I kind of agree. JT was huge in the two previous games, but that was because he played smart and within the offense. Last night he kind of went back to his bad habits. He took a couple threes early in the shot clock from way past NBA range. He also started going back to the turn around fall away. Hopefully it was just in the game last night and it won't be continued when every possession counts.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostAnd I thought he'd turned a corner. Good game. Rose and Rice can really ratchet up the offensive pressure coming out of the locker room. JT overall had a productive game but I agree he gets a bit loose when he thinks things are too easy. Jimmer is not Jimmer and yet we continue to win. I'm extactic about this teams depth and no nonsense approach. What I love is that our best players don't show too much emotion right now. Jimmer gives an occasional fist pump and the guys rally around each other but Jackson's expression seldom changes, Hawes is always stoic, and all the roll players with the exception of Tav really just do their job without much fanfare. Not trying to pick on JT as he has been key in the past few weeks and very mature about his changing roll but he seems to be the only guy that feeds off of negative emotion quite a bit.
I flipped over to watch SDSU v UNLV after our game and if this team can split or sweep those teams on the road this year than I think an NCAA win is a lock at this point. SDSU is a great rebounding team and UNLV in their building is tough as nails. At one point in the game, there was a very informative stat graphic displayed:
BYU is #1 in the country in FT%
Top 3 or 4 in Shooting %
Top 3 or 4 in 3PT%
Is that accurate? Wow.
PS Jimmer must have a really cool strain of mono. His mono allows him to travel, play D1 basketball, go to school, etc.
When I had mono, I spent the first 3 or 4 weeks doing nothing other than sleeping all day long, getting up (someones only once a day) to eat sparingly and then go back to sleep. I lost a bunch of weight. When I first came down with it, I was at work and feeling really crappy. I went home sick that afternoon and went to bed. I woke up to find my sister standing there telling me that it was time to get up. It was the NEXT day at dinner time. I didn't fully recover for months.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

They also had a sweet graphic that stated that BYU was shooting 4.4% from three this year.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostAt one point in the game, there was a very informative stat graphic displayed:

that page is confusing me.Originally posted by Indy Coug View Post
Does it show where BYU ranks nationally in each category?
Also, it shows us winning out our remaining games....and somehow finishing with a final record of 29-3.
I should have paid more attention in Dr Beus's class.
