Not sure what your point is here, but your statement is incorrect. They are 16/17 and Portland State is not an outstanding team. Losing to them at home is disgraceful. I'm not convinced U of A is an outstanding team either. They play a tough schedule and that's the only reason they're still ranked.

My point is that they were ranked what they were ranked after their three losses.

Rocky, in typical fashiioin (Rocky, who said both Boise and TCU were more deserving of the SUGAR BOWL than Utah), had to point out that with Utah's loss they had lost four of five. But they were ranked no. 7 before those three losses and the ranking they had when Utah beat them reflected those losses.

I think "disgraceful" is a little strong, especially since a let down after the UCONN heartbreaker was understandable. I'm sure Arizona would beat BYU at Tuscon.

#1. Find the link where I ever said Boise and TCU were more deserving of Utah. You can't.

#2. What's wrong with pointing out that Gonzaga has now lost 4 of 5? It's a factually correct statement. I think Gonzaga is good, but turning out to be not as good as their early season ranking indicates. It's still a good win for Utah regardless.

It's been a great sports week for Utah fans.

Is it just me, or does Cummard tend to have poor showings in most big games?

I have watched very little of Cummard - I only see him when the U and Y play - so based on your comment I ask, is Cummard more hype than talent?

What I have seen of him, he seems like a great player, but great players are at their best in big games.

Portland State lost to Hampton. 6-7 Hampton. They are a decent team, but not outstanding.

U of A lost to UNLV by double digits in Vegas. They could beat BYU in Tuscon. I didn't know the the benchmark of an outstanding team was the ability to beat BYU at home.

Do you think Gonzaga is ranked when the new polls come out? I don't know if they will be. I'm trying to start following the Zags since one of the perks of the new gig will be season basketball tickets.

I don't know. But one thing I do know is that tonight won't hurt Wake's ranking (or help BYU's). One of the down sides of beating a higher ranked team or a team that's ranked when you're not is that its ranking suffers as a result. I don't know what the answer is to that conundrum.

As for whether Gonzaga will be ranked come the next polls, I believe they've done enough over the last decade to give them the benefit of the doubt, so I think they will be ranked.
