The luster on that win didn't last long Utes. Oh and we beat Bradley by 10.

We don't measure our success against BYU's record. We're a national program and tradition. But now you got me wondering. Has BYU beaten a ranked team in the last 20 years?

Utah was so great under Majerus and I would think one of the times Reid beat him, the Utes were ranked.

Other than a team with which BYU was so familiar.

12-6-2003, BYU beat Oklahoma State at the Delta Center handing Eddie Sutton's team one of only four losses on the season. Oklahoma State was ranked #25 at the time. This is the same Ok St. team that made it to the Final four.

The loss was pretty much a catalyst for the Cowboys, as Sutton made the team practice in football pads the next day because he was so pissed at they way they got beat on the offensive boards. OSU became awesome after that.

Some day BYU fans will know what it feels like to beat a ranked team early on who sucks it up the rest of the season.

There's a good chance Illinois won't suck the rest of the season. They have a quality coach who has been to the NC game, and Bradley is a good program. Forgive Bradley for losing by 10 at the Marriott Center its first game of the season. Also, this was on a neutral court and Illinois had played a very hard fought game the night before. It's not unusual for teams to not react well to those short, unnatural layoffs. Bradley was also super-motivated as the little brother in an in-state rivalry game (Bradley is located in Peoria, Ill.).

In the future, when you ask one of these questions, would you mind giving us the criteria for an acceptable answer beforehand? TIA.

Sagacious as always. Louisville won at least 25 games and lost a close game in the Elite 8 to North Carolina.

Okay, they made it to the Sweet 16. They fell out of the top 25 most of the season. I daresay I know more about the Big East than you do. They weren't the no. 7 team in the nation. It's pretty hard scrabble finding a BYU win over a ranked team, isn't it.
