Why is Pat Buchanan such a pacifist

I seen him at Drudge adn townhall rail on civil war saying it was Lincolns fault, Truman dropping ABOMB and wrote a book saying we should of left HItler alone he wasn't hurting too many other people. He is not fan of current gulf war.

I think he is insane himeself we do have business in some areas, can't negotiate with the likes of HItler and Hussein who are liars and war is at times justified. There is no way the US or Britian could of escaped either world war. He is just going over the top on pacifism I think.

I read Buchanan's book about WWI. I think it could have been avoided. It should have been avoided. No WWI = no Hitler and WWII.

World war I how the allies handled it did give rise to Hitler. AFter the second world war and Korean AMericans and Europoeans agreed to protect Japan, Germany and Korea and now trade with them and freedom is protected there. Helped them instead of left them in the dust. That avoided another hitler.

I think there is a difference between Pacifist and Isolationist. I see Pat as the latter. In some ways I agree with his belief that the US should worry about itself and not waste so much time on foreign policy.

I will add that WWI was horrific in it's own right, not just that it led to WWII. 19th century tactics combined with 20th century weaponry led to unimaginable slaughter. Just decimated a whole generation of European men.
