    Classic democratic move

    http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/08/...eat/index.html

"Just last week, Kennedy urged that the law be changed to allow the governor to appoint a temporary replacement until the special election could be held. Gov. Deval Patrick on Wednesday told Boston radio station WBUR that he is in favor of the change and would sign it into law if the state legislature passed it."

So let's change the rules in the middle of the game? I just saw an article that pointed out that the current law was supported by Kennedy himself so as to prevent Mitt to replace John Kerry with a republican if Kerry won the presidential election 5 years ago.

In the Republic's original form, Senators were elected directly from the state legislature. This would be closer to the founders original intent than would be how the present rule is in Mass. But yes, you have stumbled upon a startling discovery that politicians tend to act in the best interests of their party and are frequently hypocritical.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.
