  • My one Ted Kennedy post

For about 40 years now I've been a little put off by the media's reaction to a Kennedy death. Sorry. I remember well when JFK was shot, but I was all of 4 (I was a very serious little oldest son of expats in Brazil; it was a big event I absorbed). RFK's assassination is equally if not more indelible. I'm sure that TK did his job well; he was a skillful legislator and I respect his convictions. But I'd say the same thing about Hatch. I don't get the Kennedy thing. When John Jr. died the fuss was about as big as Lady Di's rites. Not to be insensitive, but honestly, the way John Jr. died was a metaphor for his life. Coddled kid always in over his head when he ventured out of the lap of luxury. JFK and RFK died 40+ years ago. We don't have royalty here. I can't even believe the UK does. I'd read a nice long obituary in the NY Times for Teddy. I woudn't watch hours and hours of Kennedy adoration on CNN or read all that reams of stuff the NY Times is putting out on TK, The Family, etc.
When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

The MSM has stated that the Kennedy's are royalty. So be it.

I'm with you. The Kennedy's are not royalty.

Of course, the media loves to portray them as such. But the truth is, that family is no more important than any other family in this country.

Truth is, not many families can claim that one of their family members was involved in a death by drowning.

Quite frankly, I hope we are done with the Kennedy name in politics.

Chris Matthews has said that Barack is the new younger Kennedy brother. So Camelot lives on!
