The Amazon fires: end of the world?

"Natural fires in the Amazon are rare, and the majority of these fires were set by farmers preparing Amazon-adjacent farmland for next year's crops and pasture," soberly explains The New York Times. "Much of the land that is burning was not old-growth rain forest, but land that had already been cleared of trees and set for agricultural use."

A lot of the pics spread on twitter by celebrities are not of the current fires and some are not even in the amazon. I'm not saying this isnt a big problem, but hysterical reporting in the media and disinformation on social media make me skeptical of most disaster news until the story matures.Originally posted by USUC View PostAccording to this, we are not at a level yet to be overly worried.

The problem with the radical left is not that it hasn't got anything worthwhile to say. The problem is that the radical left has a hard time being truthful about anything. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

I’m part Brazilian. Sort of. Also, this is all about the left trying to discredit Bolsonero. He was elected because the 16 years-plus of leftist leadership stole from the public and took bribes while the country regressed into worse property, crime, and filth. Kind of like Los Angeles. Now he’s de-socializing the country. This is an interesting article.Originally posted by YOhio View PostSheesh, SU. Obsessed much?
