This morning the Judiciary Committee voted 13-6 in favor. If that number is indicative of how the remaining Senate will vote, she'll receive the 51% majority.

Sorry, gun users.
I'm not a gun user, but I believe in gun rights. Are you sorry for me, too?

Sorry, gun users.
Do we really think that she'll be the one to say gun ownership isn't an individual right, when leading constitutional scholars feel the opposite and the court has recently made that ruling? I don't care how liberal she is, I don't see that happening. Maybe I am wrong.

Knock it off. This board has enough problems without a dose of middle-age lechery.

I agree. There will have to be a major reversal in constitutional precedent and a totally new court before the current 2nd amendment jurisprudence is altered. Congratulations, gun owners.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

You work very hard to make comments that rub the wrong way. Maybe that's your point, but I think your ideas would be better received if you didn't make posts like this one.

Please explain how my comment rubs you the wrong way. I do not own a gun. I don't shoot guns. I believe in gun rights. I wondered if Fiyero's pity extended to people like me.

Are you looking to be offended?
No, I'm not looking to be offended. I want to like you. There's something about your 'tone' sometimes that's smarmy sad-sack-Mr.-Mackey-mmmmmkay that bugs people.

JL it's these comments that "rub people the wrong way." You rarely add your opinion and leave it at that; instead you often finish with some kind of additional commentary presuming to know what others are thinking: what the author's true intent was, what an unwritten agenda was hidden between the lines, etc. If you could do away with the personal remarks and stick to the topic, you might become more well-received.

You know, if I was the only one on CUF that that description applied to, I'd feel bad and try to change.
Do you read the board often?
I'm also interested in seeing examples of me finishing "with some kind of additional commentary presuming to know what others are thinking: what the author's true intent was, what an unwritten agenda was hidden between the lines, etc."
I honestly don't know what you're talking about here.

Instead of demanding evidence, please evidence a modicum of introspection, as I did this Spring, and read through your posts as if they were written by someone else, and see if you think you see what Fiyero is getting at. We're not saying that you're the only one who does this, we are saying that you do it. As my mom would say, don't worry about the other kids; worry about JohnnyLingo.

I just prefer to see people be consistent with their demands. I don't see you calling out any of these others in a public forum. Be consistent, wuap.
And Jarid, I'm sorry you lost a loved one to cancer. That doesn't mean cancer can never, ever be used in a humorous way by anyone. We're all sensitive to certain things, but we can't go around imposing our own sensibilities on others.

You need to be able to laugh and cry and poke fun at our own frailities but wishing cancer on someone is not humorous in anyway. That is the line you crossed and I can honestly say that there is nary a person posting here that doesn't agree with me.

The problem with using the "everyone else feels exactly the same way" card when dealing with me is that people who may agree with my view are reluctant to express this. It makes honest polling rather difficult.
