No. The state of Hawaii is bass ackwards. They don't keep original birth certificates. A few years ago when I applied for my passport I couldn't find my original birth certificate. So after being transferred about 5 times on the phone and waiting on hold for 30 minutes I spoke with someone who could give me two copies that carried the state seal and expedite them to me. Expediting meant 1-2 weeks. Otherwise, it would take 4-6 weeks. Seriously, this was a big PITA and the good people of Hawaii were useless at answering questions and helping me. While waiting for my official copies of my birth certificate my mother found my original birth certificate in her possession.
