I found this entertaining. I know that people are going to be appalled by the way this guy chased congressmen, but I thought it was funny. For some reason I have even less respect for congressmen than the average person.

What's to respect? Most of them start out as lawyers and decide that's too ethical a profession for them so they go to Congress.

This issue was never a big deal to me, but the longer President Obama goes without producing the original birth certificate, the more I believe he simply doesn't have it. The issue would have died a long time ago if he'd merely produced it with a smile and a quip.

If the conspiracy theorists have evidence that President Obama went through the naturalization process, let them show it. But there is no such evidence, because this theory is based on unreality, as two minutes’ examining the claims of its proponents reveals. The hallmark of a conspiracy theory is that a lack of evidence for the theory is taken as yet more evidence for the theory. Indeed, the maddening thing about dealing with conspiracy hobbyists of this or any sort is the ever-shifting nature of their argument and their alleged evidence: Never mind the birth certificate, his step-grandmother said he was born in Kenya! (No, she didn’t.)

To be fair, I'm sure he didn't know he was going to be president when he was born, or even when he went to college. The dude's moved around a lot, and those things get lost.

But I'm curious why you still harbor doubts on the subject. It has been established that within a couple of days after his birth, at least two Hawaii newspapers reported his birth in Honolulu. And copies of his birth certificate have been obtained from the responsible state agency (e.g.,http://msgboard.snopes.com/politics/graphics/birth.jpg ) with multiple officials confirming its accuracy. Do you believe that many hundreds are in on a mass conspiracy? Wouldn't the profit motive be enough for at least one of them to come clean? Are they the same people that implanted explosive devices on all of the floors of both WTC towers without anyone noticing?

Brother Lingo, this is where you differentiate yourself from Hallelujah, for which you deserve some credit. You could have shifted the subject by taking a different (even deserved) shot at Obama, or provided some other smug response followed by an LOL. But no, you took the high road, conceded the point and moved on. Peace be unto you.
