Crowley, the cop, sure is taking advantage of all this.

"Crowley suggested Obama invite him and Gates, to the White House for a peace-making beer, and a plan was in the works to do so, Obama said."

If I were him, I'd ask for a night in the Lincoln Bedroom while I'm at it.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Crowley is taking advantage of what Obama said in front of the entire nation? The media is all over it. Not Crowley.

I read a fascinating discussion of the art of apology by the guy who wrote the "languages of love." I can't overstate how much I learned from that book. If you want to improve your marriage, understanding apology is at least as important as understanding the love thing. I highly recommend it.

Do you apologize right away to your wife when you are wrong? My guess is you think you are never wrong.

*Sigh*. I'm just talking here, I'm not arguing.

Anyway, I was referring to how Crowley invited himself to the White House for a beer. Since I doubt he already had a poker game or something set up with the President, I was remarking on Crowley's opportunistic request.

He admitted he was wrong and 'misspoke' but won't apologize. That's the question at hand. If he wants the issue over with, why not apologize and end it? Especially since he stirred up racial tensions with his press conference comment (that's the media's take re: racial tensions).

It is over, isn't it? What's left to discuss?

Everyone knows that no direct apology will ever come from a politician. Things like "misspoke" are as close as it gets, and in my mind, its just semantics anyway.

Gov. Sanford apologized. But then he didn't simply misspeak.

As the magnitude of the action increases, so does the level of the response, I would guess.

The most Obama has been "guilty" of is saying the police acted stupidly. And he was right!

Bush was wrong about a tyrannical despot. Obama was wrong about a Boston cop.

                            Just sayin'.
