It was just reported on the local news that Ted Cruz kept his Senate seat and defeated Beto O'Rourke.

This was reported an hour ago locally. What they’re not mentioning nationally is the Beto effect on down-ballot incumbents. There’s been speculation for almost a decade that Texas will turn blue sometime in the next thirty years. This suggests it may be sooner than anticipated.

The Republicans always seem to do better than the polls predict they will do.

My theory is that people who vote Republican are more likely to be working and thus not answering their phones.

My wife’s theory is that Republican voters are more likely to be assholes who won’t talk to pollsters.

                              .

Not news. She won when she came out ahead in the primary. A lot of her district is in the Bronx. She has 78 percent of the vote

Lol. It's the Bronx. There are barely any republicans there. She won this in a very low turnout primary because the established mainstream democrat took a win for granted and did a really crappy job of getting the vote out.
