  • Here is the advantage of CUF

over at CB or for sure TBS. You actually learn to understand how others may feel or think. Statements do not go unchallenged. I think it was Wuap who called me on using the term illegal immigrant. I don't think it is such a bad term, but I have no problem using undocumented because it means the same thing to me. However, unless I really want to provoke someone and am not really interested in real discussion, I don't have to use inflamatory words.

The problem with folks who immerse themselves solely on CB are allowed to spew venom without consequences. Try calling a lady in the church advocating women not working outside of the home a moron. Rightly so, you get chastized or supsended. Now try calling a leader of the NOW a moron. You are roundly applauded.

I have no problem with someone calling for instance two gay guys kissing, idiots, morons, sinners, etc., as long as the format allows for the name caller to get back as good as they give.

In the use of words on CB, some are allowed to use a BB gun while others have the freedom to use a cannon.

this is one of the reasons that my last posts on CB and uf.net correlate fairly well with when I signed up on this board. It wasn't my plan to abandon the others, but it became fairly obvious that I could carry on a conversation of real substance here, instead of just the fluff that I could squeeze in on the other sites.
"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."

"I like to bike. I could beat Lance Armstrong, only because he couldn't pass me if he was behind me."

They are immigrants. They are here illegally. Thus illegal immigrant. Some want to minimize their status so that it doesn't reflect their illegality. Stick to your guns.

exUtelujah, you add so much to this forum. I can not think of a single person that you haven't touched with your wide variety of interests and posts on different topics. I am so glad you aren't a cookie cutter poster that just sticks to the same tired subject matter.

You and I have a different view of sticking to ones guns. If in a conversation with someone who has a different point of view my intent is for one upmanship, which I am want to do on occasion, then by all means use whatever words will incite the person I am having the discussion with.

On the other hand if my intent is to truly understand their point of view and to get a chance to express mine, then I am more than willing to use terms condusive to the discussion and I am not to worried about someone sitting on the sideline thinking I am backing down.

The more people desire political correctness, the more I don't. Just trying to keep balance and a happy medium.

It would be irresponsible to allow one group to determine what one thinks. Would you want Washingtonians or Oregoneans to determine America's future and how to think?

I didn't bring up the subject matter. Or did I miss something? Talk about cookie cutter, you and others still talk about exute. How tired is that?

Now for the the real meaty stuff.........why is undocumented alien a more appropriate term than illegal immigrant for those who snuck (sp?) into this country wihtout going through the appropriate immigration process?

You are such a dolt. People aren't piling on because you oppose illegal immigration. They are piling on because you took a thread that wasn't about illegal immigration and tried to make it about illegal immigration.

Read the original post. Then look at the responses. Sounds more like CB than CUF........that's what's laughable. At least no one gets banned here but the name calling seems to be similar. But then I haven't spent time on CB to do a statistical analysis.

Why is calling someone's behavior out of the norm more appropriate than calling it deviant. Well, maybe because it is less inflamatory.

Of course you probably missed that part of my post.

I'm no English expert, but the term illegal immigrant is bad English, isn't it? Illegal immigration seems correct to me. The person isn't illegal, the act is.

I missed the thread where you finally admitted it, so I apologize for bringing it up again. But since I missed your thread where you admitted your previous lies it brings me back to a question I ask you a while ago when you called a good poster on this board a liar.

How do you justify lying about vehemently denying you were exUte for so long? Are you just like all those evil dishonest politicians you always rail on? What party do you affiliate with? Also another question that just came up in this thread, what is an Oregonean? Is that some kind of liars term I am not familiar with?

Bump, exUtelujah just wanted to make sure you saw this and don't miss it. Like I missed the post/thread where you finally stopped lying. I would love to hear your answers to my questions.
