I am proud of KSL, even though

they are owned by Bonneville communications, which is owned by the church, they gave extensive coverage to the group that did a "kiss in" in protest of the two gay lovers who got kicked off of the churches property.

It was especially heartwarming to hear from the lady who was so proud she brought her kids down to the protest. I hope a lot of kids got to stay up last night and watch the coverage. Adults kissing, peace bro. Men kissing women, women kissing women and guys kissing guys.

The churches position and lock up of their property is preventing widespread use of downtown by folks like these. How do we expect a vibrant and healthy downtown if we upset folks like these who are the very heart and soul of SLC.

I only wish my children could have seen such protests on TV when they were younger. It has been very difficult for me to teach my boys that making out with another guy is as normal as making out with a gal.

This lady they interviewed is very fortunate to live in this day and age when she can take her children to such events.

Deseret News also did the most extensive coverage on the release time seminary principal and fellow OHS grad Mike Pratt--Go Tigers!

The only reason that downtown is vibrant is because of the Church. The downtown community is always begging for vitality.....with the church's money and then they expect to set the rules. No way, Jose.

At the risk of having people get mad at me, I totally agree with you.

so it appears that there was "a kiss" and the security guards told them that he behavior was "unwanted."

So unless the police report is fraudulent, I guess the long-standing policy on Temple Square is that heterosexual couples that engage in "a kiss" will be asked to vacate.

True. If I was on grounds owned by the LDS church and saw hetero's kissing and then they question me kissing my boyfriend, I would be pissed too that they were unaccepting of my acts of affection.

WE might want to eliminate the concept of private property. The marshall on our course comes down harder on guests caught peeing behind a tree than he does members.

So they were asked to leave private property. They said no and told the security folks to call the police. Have I missed anything yet?

Police come. Drunken gay won't give his name. No injuries seen on said gay. Gays get citations for trespassing. Fine: $214.

How stupid can these guys be? They are a cute couple though. Cute but stupid. They could have easily just walked off the plaza and saved themselves some money.

They may be asked to knock it off depending on the nature of the kissing.

Church owns said property. Church has their guidelines. Church can ask whomever they want to leave, to leave or cease their behavior. They have standards. don't like them. don't go on their property. Something DDD can even grasp......I hope.

Then say "we don't want gays showing any affection on our property. Don't hide behind the we don't allow it from anyone schtick. If that is the guideline. State it loud and clear.

Church security said it loud and clear. Gays said no and to call the cops. All they had to do was stop and walk away. Do you know for a fact that they haven't asked any hetero's to knock of their PDA's? I guess the more appropriate thing to do would have to baptize them in the fountain?

Agreed. Song and dances always make you look silly.

The gays were singing and dancing as well?

i dont think anyone cares about the trespass stuff. that is pretty well established that the Church can kick them off the property
