So does this mean that Mitt is no longer Utah's "favorite son"? BTW, just how many states does Mitt claim as his home?
This Utahn is thrilled with it. God bless Mitt.

Yeah, you have to hand it to Mitt for taking a stand like that. At first he said there wasn't enough evidence (out of the "overwhelming evidence" the Dems claimed they had) and they needed to hear from additional witnesses. I would have loved to have heard from more witnesses like Hunter "The crackhead" Biden and maybe even from Daddy Joe. Besides keeping Bernie, Liz, and Joe (as a witness) off the campaign trail would be a big help for Mayor Pete (and he is going to need it in places like South Carolina). Of course, even with the lack of evidence Mitt rejected the morally flawed Drumpf.

BTW, I don't understand how Bernie and Liz voting to remove their political opponent is not an obvious conflict of interest. (Even more obvious than Drumpf asking for Ukraine to investigate the corrupt Bidens.) They should have just recused themselves so they could get back on the campaign trail so they could beat Drumpf at the polls. That strategy for removing Drumpf from the white house has much better odds than getting 67 votes in the senate.

          • I've been very upset with Mike Lee for a long time.

I wouldn't even vote for him against a transgender grocery bagger.

            • I love Mitt. I can't think of a more courageous political act by an American politician in my lifetime.

Watching the Utah legislature do damage control is pathetic, yet a pretty strong statement that they know our president is a spiteful man who will stop at nothing to punish his enemies.

Pathetic indeed. Let’s hurry and show fealty so our dear leader doesn’t punish us.

                • I just saw on Twitter that Laura Ingraham said she's considering moving to Utah to make a primary run against Mitt.

I've been besieged by friends condemning carpet bagger Mitt Romney for his vote. F 'em all.

They'd be in Moscow. Mitt would be in Siberia.

Mitt would have come down with a mysterious illness, retired from public service to be with his family and would die shortly thereafter from radiation poisoning.

                            • Any social media user with strong ties to the state of Utah has watched over the last several years as the Trumpers have become more and more vocal about their hatred for Mitt. Even before this week's events, it was apparent that Mitt has been a target of hatred for Trumpers. Initially I got the sense that this very vocal subset did not represent the majority of republicans in Utah. However, i've also watched as many people who held their noses and voted for Trump in 2016 have become more staunch in their support of him (primarily because of how they perceive the left has approached his presidency; whether one believes that is a reasonable basis for supporting Trump is a separate debate). The question i've been asking is whether there aren't many Mitt supporters left, or whether they are just not being public/vocal about it, and the Mitt Haters are still the minority.

It's remarkable what happens when Facebook users are constantly bombarded with videos from Russian-bot pro-Trump groups, generating a tidal wave of disinformation and outright lies.
