"The vice president of programs for Gallatin County Republican Women said in a radio program Thursday she "would have shot" the reporter who was assaulted by then-candidate Greg Gianforte the day before his election to Montana's sole seat in the U.S. House.

The reporter entered a room where Gianforte was about to conduct another interview, and began asking him questions.

“If that kid had done to me what he did to Greg, I would have shot him,” said a woman who identified herself as Karen on the Voices of Montana radio program during a segment with John Heenan, a Billings attorney in the Democratic primary who is hoping to advance to run against Gianforte in 2018.

Heenan’s campaign posted audio of the interview on its Facebook page Thursday saying the caller was Karen Marshall, and on Friday show host Jon Arneson confirmed it was Karen Marshall in a text message.

Marshall hung up on a reporter Friday morning, saying “I don't really speak to reporters” before the line went dead."
That sort of seems the opposite of a persecution or victim complex.
    PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

Frank did you set up some kind of google alert for GOP info or is this from some kind of antiGOP reddit?

Years ago on my way in to work I used to listen to a talk radio host named Neil Boortz. He’d always have a news story about some outrageous event that happened somewhere in America, further evidence that this country was going down the tubes thanks to the Godless liberals. I’d arrive at work in a bad mood and ready to argue with anyone who tried to convince me things were actually just fine.

A while into this I realized how unhelpful this was on my mental well-being. The stories were almost always overblown and inconsequential. They not only provided no value, but they were actually harmful. I was looking for reasons to dislike my fellow citizens and to be pessimistic. The daily outrage was grinding on me. I stopped listening completely and my life immediately got better.

Frank, I recommend you do the same.

I may follow it. I was listening this morning to an excellent interview of Walter Isaacson (and Jobs, and the new Da Vinci biography I can't wait to read). He's a former journalist, worked in broadcasting, and is very well-informed, but he said his mood and general outlook on life improved dramatically once he swore off the evening news and commentary awhile back.

I didn’t say you needed justification to start a thread, start as many as you want that was someone else’s fight not mine. I just wondered how you were finding obscure Montana news articles.

Well, you started the thread. But I won’t be offended if anyone else here follows my advice.

That’s exactly what prophets say. Not saying you are a prophet, just saying that’s the kind of thing they say.

What my deal is? Well, you didn't say you wanted a thread about "conservatives" or a way to balance out what you apparently perceive as an imbalance on the board. Instead, you chose a thread title about conservative persecution and victimization complexes and regardless of whether other threads include off topic posts, this post of yours is counter-topical. I don't really care, but I was noting that to the extent you wanted to complain about conservatives who are whiny, this person was not. She was the opposite of whiny, I think. IOW, my comment is really germane.

                      Does that explain my deal?

Thanks for relaying the kind of thing prophets say. Now I don't feel as bad about missing so much general conference.

Starting today, I won’t listen to Neil Boortz (although Sartre wouldn’t approve)

I have followed this philosophy this year and it has done wonders for my mood. I read a few newspapers but generally ignore any of the political rantings.

Yeah, this demonize-your-political-foes mentality has completely permeated our modern political culture. First it was fueled by talk radio, now it is fueled by one-sided clickbait crap on the internet.
