I travelled to Wyoming for the 2017 eclipse. Millions of people suddenly wanted to be in their car at the precise moment totality ended. The drive home, which normally would have taken a little more than three hours, took us fifteen.

    I get the emergency declarations.

Many state declarations of emergency have become performative. Both parties do it. All the political incentives now push for a pre-declaration of emergency to avoid perception of inaction even if the claims would not be valid. Better for a politician to declare a state of emergency and have nothing of significance happen, than to declare a state of emergency after a major event occurs. In the former case you just waste a bit of money, which no one really cares about. All that being said, this one appears to be particularly silly and performative given that it's only $100k she is allocating and this event has been known for decades. Seems like a little planning even a few weeks ago could have avoided a declaration of emergency.

I am not going to travel to the path of totality. I do have a millennial playing a key role on one of my projects who has owed me work for 2-3 weeks that the client is pissed about not having. He has decided he is taking the day off to travel to upstate NY to see the totality. I hope he gets a face full of clouds.

We really wanted to go to it and see another total eclipse, but health issues prevented us from being able to do it, plus we put it off long enough that it would have been way more expensive.

I am going to feel sorry for everybody that went out of their way to go see it and ended up with clouds covering up the most important part of it.

Didn't make a trip. I will able to see it from my back yard as long as the sky is clear enough.

I watched it with welding helmet. Didn,t get dark but a few degrees colder. I went to get straw south of twin on Sturdy and traffic was not bad. Monday went down there coming back saw several license plates from Nevada, California, Texas, British Columbia. I guess a California couple was in other Ward Sunday. I saw a car with solar express and family picnicking at park Sunday too. Must of been going to see eclipse. Saw northaide bus company come down must of been through Arco. Fairly crowded roads.

Kmvt interviewed missionary at Shoshone church who saw it. Used to be ice cream place across it. 5 year old had interesting take on it as well. I guess no one got eyes burned out I a, aware of.

Thanks for the clarification. I now feel much better about the potential ramifications of the 2024 ecplise!

I'm sad that he won't make any specific predictions, but I'm grateful for his insights nonetheless!

It looks like they cross closer to St. Louis or in Kentucky. Maybe God is sending a warning shot

    What I am not saying:
    • I’m not saying I think Jesus Christ’s second coming to all the world will happen in either 2017 or 2024.
    • I’m not saying I think that these eclipses are the sign of the coming of the Son of Man.
    • I’m not saying that I think anything will happen on the exact day or at the exact time of the eclipses that will suddenly jolt all of America. I’m not ruling out that something could happen, but my purpose is not to come on here and make some specific prediction about something happening on August 21st or on the day of one of the other eclipses.

    What I am saying:
    • I am saying that I believe these eclipses (and the eclipses in 2044/2045 and 2052) could be relevant to and indicative of tribulation in America, an Adam-ondi-Ahman event, a New Jerusalem event, and an event relevant to the people there being defended against enemies.
    • I am saying that I believe that if these eclipses do mark a point in time of fulfillment of prophecy, then the things that will happen will come about in the days, weeks, months, and years surrounding the eclipses. Significant things may or may not happen on the exact day of the eclipses.
    • The kinds of events that come to mind for me include both wonderfully welcome and tragic happenings, like famine, pestilence, disease, terrorism, civil unrest (political, cultural, etc.), wars, earthquake, tsunami, weather events, economic hardship, miracles, long-anticipated fulfillment of prophecy, etc.

I hesitate to make any specific predictions.
