    Arming the Middle East

    It is understandable why the US wants to appease its friends in the Middle East by selling top grade arms to the Kingdom and other Gulf States. My concern lies in the US's erstwhile friendship with Iran. Back in the day, there was a board game where the gamemaker pre-supposed Iran would become our enemy. Low and behold, those arms we sold the Shah became the property of our enemy. Of course, we simply stop selling replacement parts but that is a small consolation.
