"They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

This quote reminded me of this thread. Its from a roundtable of comedians and how they respond to people that are offended by some of their jokes.

DELANEY: Also, if you apologize to somebody, then they're not going to be able to masturbate to their anger anymore. So you're kind of doing them a disservice because people who get offended about a joke and blog about it or whatever, they're so happy that they're getting to do that. I wouldn't want to rob them of it by apologizing.
Rob Delaney, Kristen Schaal and Saturday Night Live's Cecily Strong joined THR's comics roundtable to discuss Louis CK and the (many) things network execs get wrong.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Dig your own grave, and save!

"The only one of us who is so significant that Jeff owes us something simply because he decided to grace us with his presence is falafel." -- All-American

I'm too old for this social media outrage culture shit. I have no idea if something is a big deal or not. Like this bombing of Syria and Afghanistan. It feels like a big deal. But I have no idea, because I know people are going to go apeshit about it no matter if it's the most hawkish fascist thing that's been done by a dictator since Hitler or it was actually decent foreign policy.

The old adage "if it bleeds it leads" should probably be upgraded to "outrage makes the front page".

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
