How mind-numbing. The cynic in me wonders if this is a grand scheme designed by the more-powered to keep the less-powered mollified by focusing them on inane tasks like this.

Anyway, I think we need to start a "What wrong with Washington (the state)" thread.

And one thing I'm curious about - if they're saying that expertise is a product of Whiteness and they want to get away from that - does that mean that anyone can show up and talk about equity, even if they have no expertise (IE experience and/or education) in the area?

Standpoint epistemology/theory.

Standpoint theory supports what feminist theorist Sandra Harding calls strong objectivity, or the notion that the perspectives of marginalized and/or oppressed individuals can help to create more objective accounts of the world. Through the outsider-within phenomenon, these individuals are placed in a unique position to point to patterns of behavior that those immersed in the dominant group culture are unable to recognize. Standpoint theory gives voice to the marginalized groups by allowing them to challenge the status quo as the outsider within. The status quo representing the dominant white male position of privilege.

I've vowed my entire life to stay in the Pacific Northwest. This is the one and only thing I have encountered that could drive me to quite happily migrate to Utah. Mrs. SF didn't believe me when I told her I think this ideology is coming for us and I'm not sure it's avoidable, it could already be too late. Then she learned in a school training that people of color can't be racist, and watched as many teachers nodded their heads in agreement. The people in that task force know exactly what they are up to, and they aren't really trying to hide it.

So - one thing I learned. I did not know that South Africa celebrates Thanksgiving. That's pretty cool, I guess. But it's also surprising to me that they would be celebrating the pilgrims arriving in America.

It's a Conservative org. for youth, Young America's Foundation. And for sure the tweet itself is a political framing. The video though stands on its own. It's representative of the elevation of historic grievance to a "get out of jail free" card. It's real and is being pushed as a narrative.

It's not just silly college students. This is the State of Washington's Office of Equity Task Force.

Also, if efficiency and timeliness are also products of Whiteness - does that mean they aren't in any hurry to make any changes and they certainly aren't concerned in doing it with any efficiency? (I'm also curious if they care about efficiency and timeliness when it comes to receiving their paycheck in this white value driven world they are forced to live in - but that's a debate for another day.)

Yes, that's one of the main problems with the new Woke religion. It doesn't believe in forgiveness nor moral progress. Just constant repentance. You're never done. It isn't that you oppressed, it's that you are an oppressor. Male = oppressor, White = oppressor.

In all fairness - if I was in the room when she got up and made her public service announcement, I'd probably be wishing for a place I could go and not see her.

Is she saying that the university is segregated and there are places that Black people can't go? Or is she asking for segregation of students at the university? I don't get it?
