This should be one of the most damning happening in the history of our country. But people are too glued to their screens, and have made MAGA their identity. Why anyone trusts X after this is beyond me.Originally posted by BlueK View Post
I think there is a fairly significant slice of the maga crowd who never really "got" Trump's pro-Putin stuff.
I'm horrified but I'm not shocked, as multiple posts of mine suggested, the Trump-Putin pet-owner relationship was pretty obvious.

And like that Trump is excepting Russia from a set of tariffs set to start in a matter of days. We are not good guys on the international stage
https://www.nytimes.com/2026/10/16/u...sanctions.html
The sanctions were intended to target Russian officials, oligarchs and financial institutions, and were part of a law that was named after Senator Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican who died in July after spending more than a year building support for the measure.
The law, which is intended to squeeze the financial lifelines sustaining Russia’s war against Ukraine, also provided Mr. Trump with additional tariff authority that he could use to punish countries that continue to trade with Russia.
The White House has broad authority to issue sanctions exemptions or waivers, and the new law requires Mr. Trump to notify Congress only if he opts against imposing the economic restrictions on Russia. Two days before the law is set to take effect, Mr. Trump exercised that power.
“I am hereby waiving the application of such sanctions, restrictions and duties provided for in the Graham Act,” Mr. Trump said in the order. “I have submitted to the Congress a certification that the issuance of such a waiver at this time is in the national interests of the United States.”
The order does not explain why waiving the sanctions is in the interests of the United States or what rationale Mr. Trump is providing to Congress for the waivers.

Trump is destroying America.
He's destroyed relations with free countries that were and should be our friends. Instead he tries extra hard to make friends with the world's most brutal and immoral dictators.
He appoints people to significant roles that amazingly are even stupider than he is. Like Pete Hegseth who has demoralized, severely weakened and decimated our military. He's started an insanely stupid war we now can't get out of. And that leads to the next point.
He's destroyed the economy. Tariffs are about the only thing economists of any political persuasion are nearly unanimous on -- that they are bad. He did it because he has no knowledge or understanding of anything other than stealing money for himself.
In 2016 when I saw the huge list of Republican presidential candidates I ranked them by my preference. He was easily DEAD last. It certainly has proven true. ANYONE could have done better.
Sorry, but I'm especially depressed about all this right now.

Um, don't look now, but with Trump openly pushing for Zelensky's ouster and conspiring with Elon to hamstring Ukraine's ability to defend itself Nostradamus Frank is closer to reality than not.Originally posted by dabrockster View PostHere we go again. So we are now talking about unfreezing some of Russia's assets. Bessent avoids directly answering whether of not Ukraine is an ally. Trump people including sellout Marco Rubio criticize Zelensky for calling out the US.
We are not the good guys anyone.

Trump/Vance/Rubio/Musk are complacent in actual war crimes when you think about itOriginally posted by LVAllen View PostRussia bombs a children's playgound.
Trump: "Russia, frankly, has been fine on Ukraine. They haven't been doing much."
Not a paraphrase, those traitorous words actually spewed from his moronic mouth.
Where are the Trump-minimizers who thought this admin would avoid wars and would be able to credibly help the end the conflict in Ukraine?
Got a lot of insults about being the "boy who cried wolf" or "chicken little."

Trump minimizes. Ever the stereotyping when it comes to refuting your sky is falling. Feel free to find any post where I or anyone said Trump would end the war.Originally posted by frank ryan View Post

Tooting your horn is more about your own self-gratification than it is that you are in fact a whinny chicken-little.
