You can just go ahead and use their real names. Moliere and byu71 can take it.

I wonder if Gorsuch isn't headed for a Borking.

        This is an excellent point.

I call foul. Hardly ever heard him mention CNN on here. I checked and I have 3 times in last two days

He has though been a pain in the whine about everything Trump fest on here.

I am just venting about things that bother me and looking for any positives. Kinda like my post about socialism which you so kindly have a reminder of with each of your posts.

By the way were you praising or mocking me. I think I know

Yep. I have been gotten many times and I give credit for the gotcha sometimes. I will try to enjoy them even more

                  Thanks.

Exactly. Clinton was an awful candidate. That's become even more apparent after her latest loss. If they run a semi moderate liberal with a touch of personality they'd have won in a landslide (of course, who am i to make predictions ).

You are right. You should be offended by the implide association.

I apologize to both you and Ted for those who defamed you

Maher & Sam Harris: Left Has Allied With Islamists; "Self-Loathing" Liberals Think We're Just As Bad

Sam Harris and Bill Maher discuss the problem of radical Islam, and the religion itself, on Friday's broadcast of Real Time on HBO. Harris, a critic of Islam and religion in general, said the travel ban is a "terrible idea." However, Harris criticized the left of allying themselves with "Islamists and closeted Islamists."

"You don't have to be a fascist or a racist or even a Trumpian to not want to import people into your society who think cartoonists should be killed for drawing the prophet," Harris told Maher.

"In the immediate aftermath of Orlando we have Clinton talking about gun control, only, and then admonishing the whole country the whole country not to be racist," Harris said. "Now, you can't said that jihadism has no relationship to Islam. So, people like Asra [Q. Nomani] (a Muslim against radical Islam who supported Donald Trump for president), who are fed up with this and there are millions of them said, this is too galling. And [former President Obama] has been lying for 8 years about this."

"Presumably, he's not been bombing the Amish. So he knows that this has some relationship with Islam," Harris said of Obama on Friday.

Maher said it is not just about the "fringe" of Islam if you are taking out large numbers of radicals.

"He said we've taken 10,000 terrorists, and I'm sure most of them if not all of them are the ones who believe in the Koran. That seems like an awful lot if you're just talking about the fringe," Maher posed to Harris.

"The fringe are people who are actually just violent," he added.

"Why is it that liberals here seem to just really want to from the gut level want to jump immediately always to, 'we're just as bad.' Because we've been bad, we've done a lot of bad things, but on this issue, especially right now, at this point in history, not every culture is equally as bad. What is that? Is it self-loathing," the HBO host asked.

"Well, there are two things," Harris responded. "One, let's just take that claim. Take our corky religions. If the Scientologists were practicing suicide bombings in dozens of countries, if they were killing people for drawing pictures of L. Ron Hubbard. Tom Cruise would have more to answer for than he does, right, and he has a fair amount to answer for. If the Mormons were trying to kill Trey Parker and Matt Stone for their broadway play we would lose our patience for Mormonism."

I watched that interview last night and thought it was excellent. Maher frequently bugs me, but he's always interesting and on this issue I think he's got it right.

And I'm not sure the reference to "Muslim ban" is unfair or inaccurate. It's been reported widely that Giuliani, who was among those tasked with writing the EO, was told by Trump/Bannon to come up with a Muslim ban that would pass constitutional muster. The purpose of the EO was, to the extent they thought permissible, to ban Muslims.

As noted in the interview, we should be doing much better at encouraging/supporting moderate Muslims, not repelling them with a hamfisted approach that does little to treat the problem.

Yeah, I believe even Drumpf may have called in a "travel ban" but later referred to as "extreme vetting" and pointed out that only 100 or so travelers during the first weekend it was in place were held up. They botch this thing pretty bad. It will be interesting to see how this all pans out in the courts.

Is there anyway we can pass an amendment to have a one time presidential election in 2018? With Trump's approval ratings at the lowest for any president at this point, I'm starting to think it might be a possibility.
It's really a lot worse that what I imagined. All of this stuff is very odd and comes off like amateur hour. I wonder if Kushner and Ivanka make a play to isolate DJT from the rest of his advisers over time; I think they are not tone deaf and have a long term investment in the family name.
