I also find it cathartic see normalizing Trump’s behaviors as a dangerous precedent.

You sure nitpick me an inordinate amount compared to other posters.

I think you may have a persecution complex.

I don't think I nitpick you specifically more than other posters. I generally respect your views and enjoy your take on issues. But wonder why some posters decide to consistently hit the same issues ad naseum.

          • shouldn't it be a little troubling that Trump likes to re-tweet people like this? She at one time advocated a "final solution" for all Muslims and likes to associate with Holocaust deniers. Hey, but if it's in the name of trolling and bothering "liberals," it's all good, right?

Frank can speak for himself but I am guessing he finds the issues involving Trump important and he is passionate about his beliefs. I sounds like you don't necessarily agree with his passion or his beliefs. That is fine.

From what I read there - you are right. It is/should be a little troubling that Trump likes to re-tweet people like that. That lady goes into some dark places.

I also think it's dumb that they use the fact that Trump has called some prominent Black Americans dumb or low IQ as evidence of his racism. Dude has called all kinds of people dumb or low IQ. Some are Black, Hispanic, and many are White. He sure seems to be an equal opportunity "calling people dumb" kind of guy - not tied to race at all.

Hey, I agree! I was just curious about the intent behind his posting.

The calling some people "dumb" is just one of the many pieces of the puzzle into what Trump's beliefs are about race. It's not meant to stand alone as only reason someone would question whether he's a racist.

                      • I have the type of ancestry that I think really pisses off people like Trump or Ann Coulter or Stephen Miller. One of my parents is an immigrant who went through all the legal hoops to come here, but not from what people like that would consider an approved country. Through the other I have ancestors that came to America on the Mayflower. Suck it, racists.

                          That’s pretty spot on.

Man, you’re missing a lot things he has said and done that point to his racism. I don’t have to make a laundry list for but I’d encourage you to look into his treatment of Central Park 5, civil rights suits he has had as a landlord etc. just to start. His whole birtherism shit with Obama and Muslim ban. Calling non white countries shitholes and complaining we didn’t have enough Norwegian immigrants.

If you are looking for a quote of him affirming he is a racist you won’t find it, but there is plenty of evidence he is. Hell? Having Stephen Miller and Sebastian Gorka on staff also point to that.

I'm just saying I don't think it applies at all - in any way. He's called so many people from so many backgrounds dumb - how is it connected to race? If the fact that he called some Black people dumb makes him racist against Blacks, then doesn't the fact that he's called a bunch of White people dumb then make him racist against Whites?

I'm not saying he's racist or not racist. I'm saying this is one of the dumb things that places like CNN do all the time - the guy provides them with plenty of real evidence of his faults. Don't add in "evidence" that really isn't evidence because it doesn't tell you anything. Trump calling a Black guy "dumb" isn't evidence of racism - because he called EVERYONE dumb. Black, White, Hispanic, Asian - you name it, they're all dumb.

Unless you're telling me that if I ever say a Black person is dumb then that means I'm a racist.

I reject the theory that if you call someone who is of a different race than your own dumb, that makes you a racist. Likewise - I don't think every person who is Black or Hispanic that has called Trump dumb is a racist either.

The Norway thing is funny to hear his Fox propogandist friends talk about when they say it's just because Norway is a nice place. Uh no. Trump doesn't really want more potential Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren voters coming here from a democratic-socialist country. Please. There is only one logical reason why he would say Norway over the others, and every one of his "very fine people" in the Charlottesville protests knows exactly what he's saying.
