He's on the ballot in South Carolina and here's a candidate I can vote for and not feel like I'm voting for someone I detest. I'm declaring for McMullin.

My guess is this is representative of what will happen. McMullin will take away from Johnson votes, which will remove any chance Johnson had of getting into the debates, but he won't move the needle w/r/t Clinton or Trump votes.
