Katie Couric is so inept that she needs Palin to make herself look good. That is truly lol funny.Originally posted by Babs View Posthttp://www.usmagazine.com/news/kate-...-again-2009246
lol. Kate is chomping at the bit to get started again."Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill
"I only know what I hear on the news." - Dear Leader

I agree. Katie Couric is perhaps the only other female news/political persona that had a worse year than Sarah Palin. Her show is in the trash, the network doesn't know what to do with her, and the Today Show continues to thrive without her while she flounders in an ever-increasing pool of irrelevancy.......what is the point of the evening news these days? As SteelBlue pointed out earlier, Twitter is just another in a continual line of technological developments that render traditional news outlets moot. By the time 6PM rolls around, it is literally yesterday's news.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostKatie Couric is so inept that she needs Palin to make herself look good. Of course Couric would pounce on the chance to interview Palin. It is the only way the American public would tune in to watch her.
It seems like forever ago, but it really was only last year when CBS was still trying to figure out how to retool Couric's show to increase ratings. It was a weekly, if not nightly news topic....how the mighty Katie Couric had fallen. Now that story doesn't even merit the back page. Everyone has moved on and left Katie behind.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I honestly can't imagine what they were thinking putting Katie in that spot. Seriously, she's spent her entire career interviewing celebrities and getting really excited about the recipe of the week! Her name ends in "ie." Her persona positively screams overaged cheerleader. I mean, cheerleading is a fine avocation, but most women choose to move on at some point.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI agree. It's hard to find more fertile ground for gotcha questions then an interview with Sarah Palin. It's hard to top her "what newspapers do you read" question.Originally posted by Babs View Posthttp://www.usmagazine.com/news/kate-...-again-2009246

Usually gotcha questions require a considerable amount of research into someone's statements, actions or positions that contradicts a later or current statement, action or position. With Sarah Palin, all you have to do is think about questions you would ask someone to get an idea of how intelligent and engaged they are.Last edited by Color Me Badd Fan; 06-24-2009, 05:06 PM.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

PBS news continues to be worth watching. They are different. They smarten up the news rather than dumbing it down.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostAs SteelBlue pointed out earlier, Twitter is just another in a continual line of technological developments that render traditional news outlets moot.
