    Some decent op-eds here.

    George Will's is especially fiery:

Planned Parenthood and the barbarity of America

Kathleen Parker's makes it hard to think that much deceptively selective editing went on:

The tipping point on Planned Parenthood

Every country in Western Europe outside of the UK and Sweden (Sweden is at 18 weeks) have severe restrictions against abortion after 14 weeks. 3/4 of the country is against abortion after the first trimester. Somehow 10% of the country thinks abortion is okay after the second trimester.

Wendy Davis, who ended up being the Democratic candidate for governor of Texas, moved up the Democratic party ladder in that state by leading a filibuster against all those radicals in Texas trying to impose the same restrictions against abortion after 20 weeks that are present in every Western European country (outside of Sweden and the UK) after 14 weeks.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

        Disturbing.

Haven't seen much discussion on this board about the killings in Colorado Springs. The man was obviously disturbed but no doubt impacted by the latest scandal and congressional investigation. Does anyone else think heated and hyperbolic can be dangerous?

Yes it can be dangerous. Both sides do it and it won't ever change.

And if the alternative is to keep inflammatory information under wraps, then the cure is likely worse than the disease.

I was a bit incensed when I heard this week that some Democrats moved in session to shut down the PP investigation committee b/c it could provoke more crazy shootings. wtf. Yes please- don't get to the bottom of this.

Agreed. That is primarily the reason that I said it won't ever change. Perhaps it will, but if it does, the result would be far worse than the status quo.
