That woman's blog is perfect for you. As evidenced by all the posts, she doesn't hesitate to find opportunities to jump on the bandwagon of people eager to pat themselves on the back for recently adopting the popular opinion while scolding those that haven't jumped on the bandwagon yet.

It's hilarious that this woman, of all people, is writing a post about people criticizing you for not caring what you're supposed to care about.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Angry iman appears to be back.

I bet he has a hard time throughout the day, carefully weighing how much outrage he should direct towards various societal ills, and making sure it isn't spent too much on issues that have little impact, so as not to influence the media's attention on unworthy things. Gotta conserve that outrage!

Thank you! Perfect example of another super common way to weasel out and avoid the real issue being discussed (appeal to hypocrisy).

You cited to a woman that is a total loon and an idiot. I'll admit that the Cecil the Lion vs. PP is kind of stupid, there's always something more dire to be concerned with but it doesn't mean we shouldn't pay attention to current human interest stories. But then she cites an example that isn't the conflating of issues at all -- e.g. the blacklivesmatter meme vs. alllivesmatter.

          Look at this wonderful post:

The Republicans in Colorado have killed the program that reduced the teen pregnancy rate by 40% and the teen abortion rate by 42% by voting not to spend the $5 million necessary to keep the program…

The Republicans apparently "killed" some wildly successful contraception program.

The reality, of course, is something totally different (I don't know, maybe this is the conflating of an issue also under her apparently subjective guidelines) -- http://www.durangoherald.com/article...01/150429564/:

Scott said he is confident the program will find alternative sources of funding.

The legislation would have provided $5 million to expand the Colorado Family Planning Initiative program that health officials say lowered the teen birth rate in Colorado by an impressive 40 percent.

The program currently is funded through an anonymous grant. For it to have expanded, general fund support was requested. Supporters already are working on a backup plan to solicit additional donations.
Summation, the state GOP didn't kill the program. It's currently being funded.

Then there's the fact that the IUD program in Colorado didn't actually reduce the teen pregnancy rate by 40% as claimed:

This month, a study was released finding that a Colorado state-government program to provide free contraception of all kinds for low-income women had reduced teen pregnancies and abortions in the s…

Again, my apologies if I'm conflating the issue by pointing out that you're a big time fan of a total moron.

I didn't read any of her other articles. Just the one. I don't know a thing about this person and couldn't care less about these other essays. I just think she makes a good point in the essay I linked. And so far you have not directly responded to the main point of that essay at all. Typical.

Yeah, he had a license to shoot a bear but did it outside of the permitted boundaries. In light of that, I guess he does deserve to be driven into hiding out of fear for his life.

How is it this is just coming up in this thread? The previous conviction hit the news about the day after he was outed as the dude who shot Cecil.

He knew it was outside the boundaries are offered 20,000 bribes to the guides to cover it up. I don't buy the Zimbabwean guides tricked line anymore. He knew better. I never said he deserves to have his life ruined, I said I feel less sorry for him.

The conviction for shooting a bear out of bounds should hurt his credibility but that doesn't mean that he knew what the guides in Africa were up to. In your rush to disbelieve everything the hunter says it seems like you're perfectly willing to look over the possibility that the guides were the ones at fault. Knowing what I know about hunting in Africa I think it's far more believable that the guides lured the lion without the hunter knowing so that there would be a successful kill with minimal effort. Creating a successful hunt is really what these outfits are all about and the shadier ones use tactics that the hunter does not see to ensure a successful hunt and rave reviews on websites.
