http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...successes.html. I'm surprised no one has talked about this but these uk nazis took 2 seats in the eu parliment. There has been a lot of talk about socialists but can someone chime and explain the appeal of these racist european nationalist parties?

For all of the hand wringing in Europe about America's racist past, there is a real problem with modern racism all across Europe. The major urban centers, with Paris and London being some of the worst offenders, suffer from great racial divides. There has been an explosion of immigration that has been coupled with a reactionary xenophobia. Add to that the much higher fertility rates of the immigrants and opportunistic politicians yelling about the dangers of "multiculturalism" and you get the type of mainstream hatespeach you see from the BNP.
I actually fear that this may be the direction the U.S. could head in. However, the U.S. misses one of the main ingredients that has made this possible in many places in Europe, fractured political parties. This is a benefit of the two party system, in that the extremes on either side are held in check. There is also the historical side, as the U.S. has a long-standing tradition of being a "nation of immigrants". For many of these countries they are seeing unprescedented waves of immigration that they have never before dealt with.

oh yeah, the black nationalist guys, they scare me too, more so farakhan and wright because they are avowed black nationalists where sharpton and jackson just plain take advantage of their communities. they scare me too and i think their will gain power just as white nationalist groups do. they have a sick synergy going on. i dont know, though that farakhan is a "lefist" he probably is anti-abortion and gay marriage.Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostHow about Sharpton? i'm sympathetic to the plight of the palestinians, but i also believe israel has a right to nationhood. i dont think US foreign policy has been the greatest in this regard but i also believe (some not all) of the member of the arab league have just exploited the problem rather than really making a humanitarian difference. could you imagine how distraught al qaeda would be if that quandry was ever solved?Originally posted by il Padrino Ute View PostPerhaps someone should point this out to Mike Waters.

Hate groups just find a new target for their ire. They will still have their miserable lives to fuel their fire. My BIL was involved with neo-nazi groups in southern Utah when I first got married. Much of his anti-semetism rants dealt with "they control all the money", "they manipulate the banks to keep everon else poor", etc. He was a high school drop out that burned out on LSD.Originally posted by frank ryan View Posti'm sympathetic to the plight of the palestinians, but i also believe israel has a right to nationhood. i dont think US foreign policy has been the greatest in this regard but i also believe (some not all) of the member of the arab league have just exploited the problem rather than really making a humanitarian difference. could you imagine how distraught al qaeda would be if that quandry was ever solved?
Yep, the "jews" were definitely the "reason" he was financially unsuccessful."The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."
