ISIS = Islamic State = Bad People

I posted several videos in the Random Stuff Worth Reading thread. The speed, and level of fanaticism this group is spreading across Iraq and Syria is frightening. ISIS have reportedly (I don't want to see it) posted a video of them killing a photojournalist. This is mind-boggling to be me, that things like this still transpire in 2014.

not going to watch the video, but reddit says the guy with the knife spoke good English with a London accent. for some reason that seems like the worst thing of all to me. radical Islam among Europe's immigrant populations is dangerous.

How long until Notre Dame is blown up? Or the Louvre is destroyed?

You know it really tips me over that we blew our exit from Iraq. So much hard work and sacrifice undermined.

I watched a video that didn't show the beheading just the dialogue up until the act. It appeared he was reading from a TelePrompTer as he bad mouthed his brother and the US.

It was weird, granted I've never watched one of these videos, but he seemed exceptionally calm before his head was going to get lopped off. And the knife the assassinator was waving around was incredibly small. Maybe there was a sword or something they switched out?

Of course, I don't know what it would be like to be held captive for so long, but I don't get calmly waiting to be executed, unless he wasn't told he would be executed. I want to believe I'd go down struggling to the last moment.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

I'm sure ISIS has ways of making a beheading preferable to months of captivity/torture.

He looked to be in good shape physically.

I wonder if they had had done the execution staging bit multiple times before actually doing it thus his passive attitude.

that's what i read, and it makes sense. they go through a bunch of mock executions so the dude doesn't know when it's actually going to happen.

Evidently the press officer from those Vice videos is now dead.

Well that is a drop in the bucket, but a step in the right direction.

Heard on the radio this morning that most of ISIS funding comes from the payment of ransoms for European workers kidnapped. In the story, they estimated $1million/day

I saw reports they received up to 3 million a day for the oil they have taken control of in Iraq and Syria.

Seizure of 160 computer flash sticks revealed the inside story of Isis, the band of militants that came from nowhere with nothing to having Syrian oil fields and control of Iraq’s second city

Sickening. Epic failure of international intelligence here.
