I can't argue with what makes a town a man's town. Any list that includes Reno is discredited in my mind.Men's Journal just named the city one of the ten best neighborhoods in America. The recent issue of Men's Journal cites Ogden's downtown revitalization with nearby outdoor recreation activities among their criteria for the recognition. Other cities that made the list include the Dogpatch, San Francisco area, Boise's north end, Reno, Portland and Anchorage.

Ogden? Downtown Ogden? What are these people smoking?
I may be small, but I'm slow.

Ogden is the only temple I've been to where I was glad that they had security on site."Wuap's "problem" is that he is smart & principled & committed to a moral course of action. His actions are supposed to reflect his ethical code.
The rest of us rarely bother to think about our actions." --Solon

I actually had to go to court for the first time in Ogden a couple months ago and was pleasantly surprised by the downtown area. Of course that may tip my hand as to what a dump I thought it would be in my mind."I'm anti, can't no government handle a commando / Your man don't want it, Trump's a bitch! I'll make his whole brand go under,"

I almost never go to a night time session ( after 6:00 ) there, I try and go to a daytime session When they were redoing the parking, they had us parking across the street and I was alway kind of worried if my car would be there when we came out.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostOgden is the only temple I've been to where I was glad that they had security on site.

I'm with fusnik on this one--Ogden gets a bad rap. It is a pretty nice little city, and the downtown renovations which have been implemented over the last decade have gone a long ways in redeeming it. Unfortunately, it seems the stigma will remain no matter what changes are made.
But for the winters, I would have no problem moving to Odgen. However, I don't do snow.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

That's ridiculous. I lived in Ogden for three years while I finished my undergrad at Weber State (Great! Great! Great!), and never once had any cause to feel unsafe or threatened. That includes numerous 7:00pm sessions at the Odgen Cupcake.Originally posted by happyone View PostI almost never go to a night time session ( after 6:00 ) there, I try and go to a daytime session When they were redoing the parking, they had us parking across the street and I was alway kind of worried if my car would be there when we came out.

But not too far south I hope. Then you get into the area where all the trees lean to the west.Originally posted by RockyBalboa View PostSouth Ogden is nice.
The rest of the city is one big shithole.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

After visiting my grandma in South Ogden on Saturday, Mrs. Donut and I took a detour and went downtown for some Farr's ice cream. The downtown renovation continues to amaze, and Ogden is quickly turning into the hippest little city in northern Utah. Utah County peeps won't admit it, but the urban vibe in downtown Ogden is much cooler than anything you'll find in Provorem.Last edited by Donuthole; 08-10-2009, 04:07 PM.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

You need to go visit the Mesa temple. I could just see the neighborhoods' residents licking their chops as all the temple attendees had to park their cars on the street due to the insufficient temple grounds' parking.Originally posted by wuapinmon View PostOgden is the only temple I've been to where I was glad that they had security on site.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”
