Yep, the fact he was impeached by a very heavily republican house shows how much he’s hated by the party. Trump stepped in and saved him which is why it was unsurprising when Trump endorsed him.

The Dems have a fairly moderate candidate that is also very religious going against a GOP nominee that was impeached for corruption and bribery (he was impeached by a GOP led state house). Paxton is also has just a huge ick factor for women due to his public affair and the fact he gives off a huge swarmy vibe.

Impressive interview overall. Seems like he is becoming a more seasoned politician.

Yeah, I would vote for him over Paxton too. But I predict he will get slaughtered in the general election.

There are fewer politicians in Texas that are more corrupt than Paxton, which is a feat in and of itself. Paxton is an embarrassment and I hope he loses in November, but I think he’ll squeak this one out.

Frank, when I say something is "fascinating" and comment that the campaign would be "fun to watch", why do you feel the need to interpret it as an endorsement of the other side and respond with whataboutism?

    His religious statements are fascinating.

    God is non-binary
God is pro-choice because He (They?) asked Mary for consent before the immaculate conception.
    Etc.

I almost feel bad I don't live in Texas anymore. Would be a fun campaign to watch locally.

Is it this election that Texas will finally vote for a democratic senator? Magic 8 ball says 'outlook not so good'.

But seriously, if primary voters can abandon all reason and vote for someone as compromised as Paxton, maybe this is the time independents and enough GOP voters turn the tide.
