d marriage between a man and a woman and people go and sue to overturn it. They complain about where the money could go though it is a drop in the bucket. Thing is The Governors and AG's didn't sue the state it is there duty to defend. It is the plantiffs that try to overturn so called same gender marriage that are costing the state. So those that are complaining about how much the state pays to defend what voter's approved are going after the wrong people who didn't sue to overturn it but have duty to defend it.

I agree. Marriage is more dead than God. Taditional marriage, gay marriage, polygamous marriage, civil unions, cohabitation.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostIt's a waste of money to fight gay marriage because it's futile.
Marriage isn't a religious ceremony, if it ever was. It is a governmental designation in order to classify people as to what their rights are and what rights they don't have vs someone else.
As long as there are places in public rest rooms where I can take a leak and no one can watch, things are fine.

Some marriages are not religious, however, I contemplate the religious meaning of my marriage far more often than I do the state meaning of my marriage.Originally posted by byu71 View PostI agree. I don't worry about that stuff. We always have you here to let everyone else know what someone said or meant.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostYou are agreeing with something he didn't say.
Heck, I appreciate the times you have let me know I didn't say what I said.
Edit: I went and saw I agreed with him saying, it's a waste of money fighting gay marriage because it's futile.
What did I mean when I said, "I agree" or what did I think he said that I didn't understand? I thought I knew the meaning of the word futile.Last edited by byu71; 05-08-2014, 10:43 AM.

I usually don't have a clue what you are talking about. I doubt anybody does (including you).Originally posted by byu71 View PostI don't worry about that stuff. We always have you here to let everyone else know what someone said or meant.

Four couples in Idaho are suing to overturn the 2006 ballot approved initive that defined marriage exclusively between a man and a woman. I read where there is only four states where people are not suing for that. Why can one judge overrule the will of the people. Only way I would think so called same gender marriage will be legal in every state is if the Supreme Court strikes down laws defining marriage between man and woman in states. I doubt that will happen. Or there will be a Constitutional amendment allowing that. I know that won't happen. Unlikely to get constitutional amendment to keep marriage between one man and one woman either.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostGrape, you live in Idaho, right? Isn't this a Utah issue?

A judge can overrule the will of the people when the people want to do something terrible (like discriminate or enslave people or force religious laws on others).Originally posted by grapevine View PostFour couples in Idaho are suing to overturn the 2006 ballot approved initive that defined marriage exclusively between a man and a woman.
