Back in my consulting days I did some work in the area. Worked on the Blanco and San Marcos. Funny enough, when we first got the contract in 2000, it was to study the effects of drought on the Edwards Aquifer. Seems like as soon as we started work, it rained significantly above average for the next three years.
    Another happy customer!

It's been raining for 3 straight weeks. We drove from Austin to San Antonio last night and the rain was out of control intense. Never been in anything like it before. The Blanco river is 30 feet above flood stage. Insane stuff.

Yeah, most of Texas is doing pretty well right now... http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/Home/S...onitor.aspx?TX

Even Lake Travis is filling up like crazy (7ft in the last 12 hours?!?)... http://kxan.com/2015/05/24/lake-trav...past-12-hours/

We've gotten it as well. Woke up this morning to tornado warnings, which I obviously ignored so I could get more sleep. Memorial Day is supposed to be constant rain

It's a wall, dude. I was feeling bad about how it looked until I saw the fence at EJ's new house.

In all seriousness, we'll probably do something to touch it up cosmetically, but not until we put in a pool.

Oh, and the grass looks good. How long does it take to mow? 2 minutes?

Actually, I like the aged cedar look. I'm not a fan of vinyl as it looks barbieish. I do like stone, but it's expensive.

The new home will need a new fence soon. Thankfully a guy in my ward does fences. I built the fence in our Utah home (dug all 33 post holes by hand) but I'm old enough to just pay someone to do it now.

We discussed this, but yes. Otherwise I would not have put those little wings beyond the concrete patio.

Seriously though. What kind did you put in? Curious what you paid/sq foot. There may be some turf in my near future.
Fescue from Valley Sod. $0.43 sq. ft. I've had good luck with them in the past.

As for the rebate, I've got about 800 sq ft in the front I'll cash in when we get around to putting in a pool in back, as the process will trash my front yard.

Thats the plan this fall. Luckily those neighbors live in CA and only come up for a weekend ever other month or so. But yeah, definitely need some more privacy. Until then, they have a nice view of all the water I'm stealing from their other house.

El nino looking even more certain.

    http://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/201...nia-this-year/

Climate experts say El Nino is growing stronger and could bring drought-busting wet weather to California this year. While the ocean condition is nearly guaranteed, rainfall doesn’t always follow the sea temperature increase.

On Thursday, scientists at the International Research Institute for Climate and Society (IRI) said chances for El Nino this summer are close to 100 percent, with simulations suggesting by December, it could exceed the devastating 1997-1998 event that brought widespread flooding and hurricane-force winds to most of California.
