Those of us in Utah are probably familiar with the case of a doctor in Utah County on trial right now for killing his wife. So today there was testimony from inmates that he totally confessed while incarcerated with them.

I have a hard time imagining this. So this doctor, who is relatively intelligent, devises a sinister plan to kill his wife where it looks like she died from medical complications or something more innocent looking.

Then he's jailed with the sort of people he normally doesn't associate with and suddenly they're all buddies and he's singing like a canary.

"Oh yeah, I totally killed her...", he tells his new BFFs, " and let me describe in detail how I did it...".

I'm sorry, I guess it could possibly happen that way, but it doesn't seem very likely to me. That testimony doesn't seem credible to me.

He may be relatively intelligent, but that wouldn't necessarily preclude him from doing something really stupid - like murdering someone or bragging about murdering someone.

The Dude is a scumbag, and possibly a murderer. It just that, to me, I have a hard time believing the jailhouse testimony. This guy was upper class, economically speaking. So all of a sudden he's in jail with a different type of people than he's used to. It's hard to see him getting chummy with them enough to spill his guts.

I don't know if this is the case, but sometimes jailhouse informant are motivated to lie for perks and reduced sentences. It just seems weird.

I still think the worst thing he did was send his adopted ukrainian 16 y.o daughter back to Ukraine for the summer to "visit relatives" and then abandoned her there, and told his family that she wanted to stay there and never wanted to return. Then he took her passport to build a new identity for Gypsy Willis. Alexis (his oldest daughter) refused to believe her father and flew over there and found the girl living in abject poverty a year later, and brought her back.

It makes me sick to hear the defense paint Alexis as a control freak who hated her father, and took in her brothers and sisters in return for their testimony against their father. Alexis was in medical school in her mid 20s, and took in her brother and sisters because they had nowhere else to go. Who has time to fly over to Ukraine to find a lost kid during medical school?

Good hell, given that he lied his way into medical school he most likely lied his way through medical school. Wait... he also lied to get into law school?

Investigators also said he used falsified records to get into medical schools in Mexico and California, and later into Brigham Young University Law School.

FYI, his son also committed suicide a couple of years ago. Very tragic. This man has left nothing but death and destruction in his wake. Selfish.
