I heard someone suggest that the first world nations should offer every woman in Afghanistan political asylum. There are 15 million women in Afghanistan and I doubt a huge percentage would take us up on the offer. The security problems associated with it would also be a nightmare. That said, I think more than a few that are younger that are about to enter their adult lives consisting of beatings, uncomfortable clothing and threats of murder and rape if they step out of line would take us up on it. Perhaps eventually a large number of younger women would choose to leave.

It would be great if in a couple decades we could shift the male to female ratio to 60-40.

I would love for the men in those countries to get their due for how they treat women, but man that sounds scary. Millions of Islamic young men with no hopes for marriage. Recipe for world peace right there.

They're already doing their darndest against world peace at the moment.

Obviously, granting asylum to all of the women will never happen. It would take decades to play out, but it would be great to see some shitty country like Afghanistan lose its posterity to the first world countries. The real question in my mind is whether things would change to ensure that more women chose to stay put. Give the fact I think Afghanistan's infrastructure is probably where ours was 200 years ago, I don't think these people are exactly hip to change. If anything, they would probably incarcerate girls after the age of 8 to make sure they never left the country.

How about a straight up trade consisting of Gloria Steinem and women of her ilk for the women in the Islamic world? They would have the chance to see what a war on women really is.
