I'd heard that they were giving Megyn Kelly a primetime slot, I just thought it was going to be Greta Van Sustern's (even though Van Sustern has the best Fox primetime show). O'Reilly was obviously untouchable and Hannity has maintained very good ratings. Greta has supposedly been wooed by Zucker at CNN, which I thought was an excellent move by him.
But then I looked at the ratings and apparently Van Sustern is getting ratings close to Hannity's. Hannity has the most clownish show in Fox's primetime. Van Sustern's show is more of a real news show than Hannity's and it's pulling similar ratings. Having O'Reilly as a lead-in will make it easy for Kelly to succeed and Fox can elevate its brand by giving Hannity the boot. They weren't going to lose Hannity to anyone else while there was a real possibility that Kelly could leave to the rebuilding CNN or even to the increasingly desperate Today Show.
Of course, there's also a possibility that Van Sustern really is leaving and they may just be shifting Hannity to 10.
