  • European ancestory guilt

There are two things that some people like to make Europeans feel guilty for, One is taking land from the Indians and the other is the Slave trade. Were Europeans supposed to turn around and go back since Indians were already here? What were Indians doing before Europeans came here? Some had literacy and industry. Cherokees did, Even sued in court after we became a country. Now people bought there homes that were already for sale.

Of course some Indians did put up fights against Europeans but got outcounquered. Indian Reservations were worst thing that happened to them I think. Thankfully many leave the reservations, have jobs and are Doctors, Lawyers, Government workers, Police Officers, Teachers, Farm Owners and other jobs. Live with conquerors. Do to intermarriage a good deal of people now have Indian Anscestory. Besides if it was not for colonization how would the Indians live today? Maybe technology would of been invented in Europe and Asia and they would use it. Many may have been educated and industrious. However I think they still would be living like they did before Colombus. Would they want to live like there pre colonization anscestors did? Live better now, Though reservation life probably not best. Cochise, Chief Joseph others were brave warriors. Do to lifestyle why should people of European descent feel guilty given they were conquering before and Europe and African people were doing same thing.

Another guilt is the Slave trade. Slavery was going on long before we were a country. The trade was happening with help from the African Chiefs. I heard Jesse Jackson say that still was not ok. Thing is it just happened during colonization and people went to Africa to get slaves. There were always good people against it. People in this country before it's founding were fighting the wicked institution. Constitution had plans to eliminate slave trade after 20 years and ways to eventually make it illegal. The 3/5th actually gave slave states less power in congress though slaves and free blacks did not get that much of a vote. Slavery was only legal in some of the US for the first 9 decades of our existence, still going on in parts of Africa.

I remember thinking if you N used that word as attitude not to people of color don't like the way you are treated get on the boat and go back to Africa. But heard this country is a democracy and work to change it. I was talking about people that complained about treatment. Thing is even when slavery was legal not very many black people went to Liberia but wanted to end the institution here. American Slave descendants pretty much ran Liberia for the longest time but who is better off descendants of American Slaves, or there African Cousins. I bet more people are descendants of African Immigrants than African Slaves. I think most Black people have African and European Ancestory. Thing is our county has ways that can make it better for people to improve and regardless of race people have a higher standard of living in America than they do most other countries, And constitution gives ways to make it better.

African Tribalism In some areas worse than Jim Crow Laws. I am glad all people are judged by content of character and have equal opportunity now. Why do people make us feel guilty for coming over here and taking over Indian lands, and the Slave trade when the descendants of those people helped all people and made this country the greatest country on earth.

Of course this country is not without problems but Black, White, Indian were would most American Citizens rather live now? I did watch bball game were a few people of Sho Ban descent did not salute flag during national anthem. We are great nation with high standard why all this guilt?

I think I would enjoy life more if I were to live like natives did in the pre-Columbian era. Like camping all the time, basically.

I could handle camping all the time if I had internet access. I hate myself for being addicted to the internet. It's my fault though; I chose to allow the technology into my life.

Personally, I think the Indians should thank us. Thousands of white soldiers died in the civil war fighting to free them and then, after all that, they slaughtered that white guy with funny facial hair.

Just a note. Almost all Indians (usually Seminole and Cherokee) sided with the Confederacy. The last regiment to surrender to the Union was one of the Cherokee ones.

Duh. Book of Mormon Art is obviously inspired an dso it looks exactly like the Nephites and Lamanites lived. Kind of like the Del Parsons picture of Jesus.
